***What Are You Smoking, January 2024?***

I believe you’re correct, I said around ‘20 but I don’t believe they were rusticating bowls that early so late 20’s to early 30’s most likely. I’ll have to keep my eyes open for one.

***What Are You Smoking, January 2024?***

Just got in from another walk with WeeBay and the ODF/Anniversary Kake mix which will henceforth be known as Dark Annie. Legend has it that if you say the name three times while looking in the mirror and smoking a pipe your pipes will be forever ghosted and your tongue forever bitten 😳. Having...

***What Are You Smoking, January 2024?***

I’m thinking of doing the same, there’s a old Norman church near here at Bishopstone and the Yew tree in the graveyard is ancient and has many perfect branches for the making of a traditional English long bow. I’m not sure if my given right as a Englishman to harvest a stave still exists in law...

    Cats & Pipes

Chim Richalds with WeeBay my dog and Tuppence, a tiny badass that every other cat in the neighbourhood is terrified of. She does love dogs but can’t stand other felines

Do You have a Pipe You can’t Bring Yourself to Smoke?

I’m also keeping the unsmoked GBD in this 1914 set in pristine condition, the other had maybe a couple of bowls through it and I smoke that but the other can stay as is.

Do You have a Pipe You can’t Bring Yourself to Smoke?

I have more than enough that I do smoke and I can’t abide breaking in new pipes. I’ve only ever brought a handful of new ones anyway and most are NOS that had been sitting in a drawer for decades. I am reluctant to smoke this Kaywoodie two piece Matched Grain set however, aside from the breaking...

    Show Off Your Kaywoodie Pipes

These are my latest acquisitions, two Super Grain with shank logo. The one on the bottom was a surprising find in the UK and came with the tiny Drinkless in the middle as a bonus. The brand is relatively unknown here (UK) fortunately so on the rare occasions I do find them for sale there’s...

Culling the Herd: Anyone Else Feel the Need to do So?

I definitely need to thin out my collection, as time has passed my tastes have changed and I’m not so interested in pipes that I was very keen on two or three years ago. I’m definitely keeping my old Brit woods and Kaywoodie’s but aside from a few of the others I have that are kinda rare they...

***What Are You Smoking, January 2024?***

Just got in from walking WeeBay with the ODF and H&H Anniversary mix, this time I added a little MacB Golden Extra. Smoked in the 1912 Civic army mount which has become my go to lunting pipe as it’s easily cleaned on the go and only cost $10 so I won’t be heartbroken if I drop and break it, sad...

***What Are You Smoking, January 2024?***

Morning everyone, I’m finishing off some PS Bullseye in a Kaywoodie medium billiard from a five piece matched grain set before moving onto Wessex Burley Slices in a small billiard from the same set. Lavazza Rosso is helping me get my head together.

***What Are You Smoking, January 2024?***

I’m totally stuffed after a massive bowl of carbonara and enjoying a glass of Cab atm. I finished off the ODF/Anniversary mix I put together earlier in a 1902 Charles Maas and now I’m moving on to PS Bullseye in a Ferndown Tudor Root with gold band. Les recognised this pipe and told me he made...

    Thank you mate, I DM’d you a message 🙏

***What Are You Smoking, January 2024?***

Just finished an interesting mix that I threw together without really thinking, I had just a little ODF left in the small jar I keep handy and didn’t want to root around for the big one as I was on my way out with WeeBay. Half ODF and half Hearth & Home Anniversary Kake, a lightly rum topped...

***What Are You Smoking, January 2024?***

It’s quite a pleasant day here for a change, had a bowl of GH Dark Shag in the 1912 Army mount Civic while walking WeeBay and am now finishing off some Steamworks in a Astley’s billiard that I started with my morning coffee. I’m moving on to GH Dark Plug now in the tiny Kaywoodie Drinkless.

***What Are You Smoking, January 2024?***

I’m not sure how true this is but I heard that Turkish soldiers during the Crimean War started rolling their tobacco in the paper from cannon fuses after their pipes were eventually broken during the campaign. It’s a nice story regardless.

Thank you 🙏 I’m glad it’s come in handy for you mate and found a Royal personage to keep it safe.

    Double Edged Razor Blades

My father always used a straight razor and taught me how to use one at a early age. I’ve had this Sheffield made Sam Osborne for about thirty years and it’s saved me hundreds of pounds that would have gone on disposable blades, money better spent on wood and tobacco. I use a French L’ Occitaine...

***What Are You Smoking, January 2024?***

Last one for the night before I take the neighbours dog out for a quick wee and hit the sack. Palmetto Balkan in a Kaywoodie Centennial billiard. Have a great evening folks 🙏
