A good start! The good news is after you do maybe 50 pipes, it gets easier to remove everything that's not pipe....:) -

Nope, one of my Cherrywood sitters with a Black Palm cap on it... Hard to say- he was a high school Spanish teacher before he joined and he tested out of that language at the DLI. He's applied for an embassy staff position lasting 3 years in Madrid which would be an amazing job. If that doesn't...- zack24

Steel tubes in shank
Stainless works great- I use it often. I also use carbon fiber tubing (Eltang and Joao Reis both use it also)- a very good material that allows very small shanks that still has good strength....- zack24

Nope, born and raised in Tennessee. He spent 18 months in the Defense Language Institute in Monterey studying Mandarin Chinese. He's actually an intelligence analyst with the AF....and that's all I know about what he does... Thanks- it's one of my favorite designs I make- a reverse Calabash...- zack24

Greta and I came over to see my son and the grandkids. He's a Chinese Analyst with the Air Force on Oahu...Had a great time- did some sailing on the North Shore, paddled on a couple of rivers, and finally found a place to light up a pipe outside the resort- it's not the most smoker friendly...- zack24

Open up the Bowl Diameter
Your issue is the airflow through the stem...The bowl diameter has nothing to do with airflow- airflow always is constrained by the smallest diameter passage- in your case, it sounds like the stem since you already opened the shank....If you have a bent stem, heat it, straighten it, and open it... -
Can Anyone Recommend A Great Pipe-maker For A Morta Oom Paul C omission?

Open up the Bowl Diameter
Trying to do this yourself will in most cases end up with a destroyed pipe. In the worst case, you'll get hurt badly...Send it out to George...I have a shop full of tools, make many pipes every year, and I won't attempt it.... -
