Looking to age this box of velvet.

Nice find! I'm going to guess... it's old. ;) Good luck rehydrating it, but then again it's velvet so it's possible it's still moist. LOL Let us know how it smokes once you try it.

    Escudo

I've only had the AC Peterson blend of Escudo and I like it. Never experienced the earlier version of the blend. I also enjoy Stokkebye's Luxury Navy Flake, Luxury Bullseye Flake, Luxury Twist Flake, Davidoff Flake Medallions, Dunhill Deluxe Navy Rolls. I don't really have a preference of one...

Finished a Bowl Using a Single Light

I can't remember the last time I smoked a bowl without a relight. I can't remember the last time I even tried. I'm usually distracted watching TV, listening to music, browsing the internet, chatting on this forum, or doing something else. For me relights are just part of the process, but if I...

    Opening A Tin? Show Us!

Popped this tin of Rattray's - Exotic Passion this morning. This is a very nice tobacco, and I'm really enjoying it at the moment.

    My favorite is gone

I see that John Middleton Kentucky Club is out of production, but there is a Planta Kentucky Club which looks similar. It's Burley based with some Virginia and black cavendish. It's course cut as opposed to cube cut, but it might be worth a try.

What Are You Listening To? - December, 2024

Been listening to a lot of Glenn Hughes the past two weeks. I've been making a Glenn Hughes playlist on my Spotify account which includes his entire career: Trapeze, Deep Purple, Black Sabbath/Iommi, Hughes/Thrall, Gary Moore, Phenomena, Voodoo Hill, Black Country Communion, The Dead Daisies...

    What Defines a Codger?

Maybe someday I'll be a codger, but for now I prefer variety. I enjoy the variety of pipes I have, and I enjoy the variety of tobacco's I smoke. Nothing wrong with being a codger though. If you got a few pipes and tobacco's you enjoy, then by all means enjoy. Pipe smoking is about enjoying...

    Why Buy Tins?

Most of the tobacco I buy is in tins, and I rarely buy bulk tobacco. The reason... most of the tobacco I enjoy comes in tins and doesn't come in bulk. Plus it's easier to store. There are only a handful of my tobacco's in my rotation that are bulk blends. Sure I could explore a variety of...

Amazing and very rare Sir Jacopo eBay listing.

I had no idea Ser Jacopo had meerschaums. What a rare find, and a beautiful meer.

It's Not That We Don't Like Turkey..

I love having turkey leftovers, but as we don't host Thanksgiving, and go to the families house's (my parents and in-laws), I only get a limited amount of leftovers.

    Rivalry Saturday

There were a bunch of good games yesterday. Unfortunately, my UW Huskies didn't fare well against Oregon. I expected that though, considering our starting QB didn't play and we had a true freshman QB going. Not a great season after last years success, but we only have 2 offensive returners...

    Holiday Blends

I still have a healthy amount of 2017 McClelland - Christmas Cheer which I enjoy sparingly this time of year. Earlier in the year I got a tin of Rattray's 2022 Winter Edition (Merry Christmas), and have enjoyed several bowls of it already. Otherwise, I'll smoke 4Noggins - Tewksbury Hobbits...

What was your first blend and is it part of your current rotation?

My first blend was Lane RLP-6 followed by 1Q. RLP-6 is not part of my normal rotation, but I buy a few ounces from time to time. 1Q is part of my rotation, and is one of my go to aromatics when I'm in the mood for one.
