    Tobacco Recommendations

The best flavored tobaccos include floral essence in them. Bob’s Chocolate Flake and Rich Dark Honeydew are medium strength blends and both have a nice aftertaste. And both are bulk blends, so you don’t have to buy a lot to give them a try. And then bulk pricing helps you save when you’re...

    Aromatic Recommendations Please

I’m just getting started with the Lakeland blends, but so far, so good. St Bruno’s Flake is very good. Bob’s Chocolate Flake is wonderful. And I really like Rich Dark Honeydew.

Deleted Account With 28353 Reviews On TR.Com

Whenever I find out about a blend heretofore unknown to me, I always check Tobacco Reviews to see what Deleted Account says about it. As often as not, Deleted’s tastes align with mine, If Deleted likes a blend, I’m confident I will like it too.

    Wind Cap

I use a wind cap when we’re at the beach where the air moves very fast. The wind cap does its job, but it’s mostly just one more thing to fiddle with while smoking a pipe. Mostly it’s a hassle when I need to use my tamper. Still I use it when necessary.

Should a Non Smoker Take up the Hobby?

I've told my grandkids to not smoke until their playing days are over. I think for most people, 40 is the age when you can't keep up or you're slowing down your team mates. In other words, when you've hung up your spikes or sneakers, it's okay to pick up a pipe. I just wish I had done that...

    The JimInks Problem

So far if Jim has highly recommended a blend, I've been pretty happy with it, too. With one exception: I still don't get SWR Aromatic.

What Books Are You Reading? (2018)

I just finished... https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00J6YBO1U/ref=oh_aui_d_detailpage_o08_?ie=UTF8&psc=1 It’s about the three years preceding the shot heard around world. I especially enjoyed reading about the people and events on the British side of the conflict. So now I’m re-reading...

    Rattray's Old Gowrie

This morning I zeroed out Smoking Pipes inventory of Old Gowry. It was odd, I had just put it on my One Time Alert list. Then as I was looking at the list, I saw it was available. Huh? I tried to order 999 of them, but only 2 were available. Okay, I ordered 2, but then my cart said I could...

Cellaring...How Much Should a Person Cellar?

I have about 55 pounds in my cellar, but that total amount includes a lot of mistakes. My cellar includes blends that I ended up not liking. I haven't precisely measured the good the bad and the ugly in my cellar, but I estimate that I have some 40-45 pounds of the good stuff. In other words...

Recommendations for a Carter Hall Fan?

I lied. Wessex Burley Slice is the best burley ever, but it’s been hard to find lately. So I recommended the other two cause you don’t need to know somebody who knows somebody to get them.

Recommendations for a Carter Hall Fan?

I like War Horse Ready Rubbed, and MB Golden Extra is very good. A lot of guys will recommend Old Joe Krantz, and I have a lot of it myself, but the above two are the creme de la creme.

Cob Pipes and the Class Thing

I confess that I use my good pipes when smoking in public. But my good pipes include my newer and better looking cobs along with my briars. I still smoke my trusty and reliable old cobs but mostly at home or outside when I don’t think VIP’s will see me.

What Music Are You Listening To - July 2018

I’m listening to Billy Bob Thornton & the Boxmasters on Apple y Music. We saw them two Friday nights ago and had a lot of fun. I did not know he’s been making music his whole life. They didn’t do any covers, just played their own stuff.

    SP has Rattray's in stock

Smoking Pipes sent me emails too. So I ordered the Ennerdale and Bob’s Chocolate Flake they said was back in stock. A little later I saw I missed the email that Marlin Flake was back in stock, then that it was out of stock already. Good times.

English Blends for a VaPer Man

This is what the crowd thinks are the best English blends Personally, I prefer Dunhill EMP. I used to like Nightcap, but it’s too strong for me anymore. I own some of the other blends on that list, but I haven’t tried them yet.

Kendal Flake or Kendal Cream Flake

I’m just getting started smoking Lakeland blends. I haven’t tried the Kendal creme one, but I do like Kendal Flake. And so far I’m enjoying dark rich honeydew.
