My First Tin of St. Bruno Flake.

Madox07 - Danish pipes cannot ship tobacco within Europe.

Which poker am I looking for?

Okiepiper - I recently purchased the 186 shape Royal Guard, biggish bowl and a great smoker ( 6 1/2 bowls up to now, breaking it in). My first big bowl pipe and thick walls, I'm converted.

Which poker am I looking for?

Well on my wish list is the Stanwell Royal Guard, model 207 poker, looks a good un.

SAV 320-321 owners - input requested

Over Christmas I took delivery of a Stanwell Royal Guard 186.....it dwarfs my Savinelli Oscar Tiger 326 which I thought was a decent size before! Not smoked the new one yet but sounds like I have a good smoking experience to look forward to if the previous comments from you guys are correct.

    VA Flakes

Hoosierpipeguy, thanks for the tip, I've took it onboard.

    VA Flakes

Like 'em a lot. Do wish some didn't have that cigarettish aroma.

    Filter-no filter

Filters for me (9mm carbon or 6mm balsa), I do like the harshness they take away from some baccys too. Usually get the Adsorba or Peterson brands because they are the best value. As you know they do seem to be more popular in Europe and most manufactures this side of the pond seem very pro filters.

    Let's Talk About Virginia/Latakia Blends

Don't usually smoke Latakia blends but winter is here which seems to suit them. Just sent for SG Winter flake and Macbaren HH latakia flake.

    Peterson Christmas

They have this side of the pond Embers :puffpipe:

    Peterson Christmas

9mm filter in or 9mm filter out...that is the question. OH NO, NOT THAT OLD CHESTNUT AGAIN! :nana:

ken56...do you know the model of the Carey pipe, love an apple ?

    Falcon pipes...I can't decide.

    Agreed ashdigger and pipebuddy. :D

    Falcon pipes...I can't decide.

Cracking pipes, just started to use my 2 regularly again. Added 2 new bowls recently and really enjoying the no nonsense, easy maintenance pipe smoking. After smoking my 6 and 9mm filter pipes it seems you get so much more flavour in the straight through Falcons, seem to 'sip' much better too.

    Wife/Girlfriend Approved Blends?

Samuel Gawith St James flake....I was surprised, got some more though :puffy:

    Best Coffee Flavoured aromatic

Gawith & Hoggarth coffee caramel. Worth a try, it aint bad at all.
  17. K

    Filters

+ 1....filters, balsa or carbon. Last me around 3/4 smokes with no bother (not large bowl pipes by the way), just find them so convenient, cleaner and smooth smoking providers.

    Favorite Lakeland Blends?

Well, I've really ended predominantly smoking Lakelands and associated G & H's. Rum flake, Mellow Mahogany, Revor plug, Ennerdale.....like 'em all really. Pipe smoking of old, strong tastes, nice aromas.
  19. K

    New Smaller Bowl

Passatore Pico, Dr Plumb 9mm 'Dinky', nice smokers both.

    Samuel Gawith Packaging

+++++1 Oldmansmoking, like the tins of past times revived.
