I'm sure he is a sort of genius. The term genius is fluid and sort of in the eye of the beholder, but his accomplishments are vast and diverse. I agree completely. I think two factors play in. Cigarettes are brutal. They taste like shit and the aftertaste stays. The inhaling fixes the taste not only to your mouth but all the way down through the throat and into the lungs. When you cough, you'll taste it. And the quick, hard nic-kick...- workman

Unflavored Blends with Pleasing Room Note
965 does not have a very pleasant room note to most people. Tastes vary of course. Straight virginias smell nice. Va/pers less so, but they're not terrible. Try Peterson Flake for a nice, sweet smell of tobacco.- workman

I'm sure it's burley. Mac Baren's Golden Blend or HH Burley Flake are pure burley blends without topping. Amphora Full Aroma is a burley based aromatic that's probably a bit lighter on the topping than the ones you are used to.- workman

Favored Techniques for Pocket Knife Sharpening?
Wetstones with different grit. I sharpen all my knives, kitchen, hunting, pocket and whatever on the same stones. It's easy and good enough for my use. I have a leather wheel for the burr, which is helpful but not necessary.- workman

Drying Tobacco in High Humidity?
I certainly dry whole tins at a time. Several actually, because I always have 5-6 different blends open any given time. The thought of having to take 3-4 bowls worth of different blends in different cuts and moisture levels, getting them to reach optimal smoking humidity at the right time for me...- workman
