***What Are You Smoking, March 2024?***

Enjoyed a public pipe while watching the Akron St. Patrick's Day parade. Received a couple compliments... one fella even recognized it as a Peterson!

Strong Blends, Gentle on the Throat and Sinuses?

It might not sound like it goes down smooth, but....

Up with What are You Lighting ?

Usually matches or a zippo, but I'll use whatever can get my tobacco lit.

    Irish Whisky

I don't know how in the world I missed this thread... Lots of good recommendations have been made. I myself agree, Red B but Breast and Powers are my go-tos. Powers is the number one selling whiskey in Ireland and I generally have a bottle on hand. Red Breast is more of my celebratory...

    What Peterson Should I Get?

I'm a huge Peterson aficionado and fan of the P-lip. I would agree though, that unless you're experienced in pipes, you may want to stay away from the P-lip and continue with a mouthpiece that you're more familiar with. As for a Peterson pipe, you really can't go wrong with any of their...

    What's For Dinner?

The wife and I don't get out for a date night very often, but tonight we attended a "Wild Game Dinner" at our local Irish Pub. (We were invited by the owner, with whom I've become acquainted with over the past few months.) It was absolutely fantastic. Pictures of the menu and courses below...

    Peterson upside down logo.

Which is usually why I solve my problems with tobacco, whiskey, or God... not necessarily in that order. 😉

    Alligator

I enjoy alligator. Ate it most of my life until I moved away from SE Texas. It's good if it's cooked right, but can get nasty real quick. It's even better as a pair of boots, a belt, or a wallet. 😉

    I Won!

Congrats! Now the bigger question is did you smoke that pipe after visiting the drive-thru daiquiri barn in the way home or did you head down to Cafe du Monde and enjoy it in the French Quarter?

Members in the Republic of Ireland... Seeking Info.

For any of our members, who reside in the Republic of Ireland, especially those of you who may hail from County Mayo or live around one of the major universities... I've got some questions. I'd like to pick your brain if you don't mind. If this is you, and you don't mind some discussion and...

    My Lent Regret

Ahhhhhhh..... the joys and sufferings of Lent .... and we're only half way through the second week. 🤣

Premier, Championship, League One, etc.+ Euros and Olympics

I'm in into soccer so much, but I'm very into the GAA sports in Ireland. You fellas enjoy the cup.

    Different Break In Methods

There are certainly a variety of methods and schools of thought when it comes to breaking in a pipe... I usually go with the "stuff it and puff it" method. puffy

    Peterson Pub Pipe

I have two pub pipes, as well as a straight billiard house pipe. They are all fantastic smokers. I don't think you can go wrong Peterson pub/house pipe if you want to sit down for a lot of tobacco.

Polishing Rusticated / Blast Finishes: Have We Reached a Consensus?

I use Decatur. Not because it's better than anything else, or cheaper than anything else, or for any other reason than sometimes I receive a free jar when I make a purchase. It's as good as anything else I suppose. Truthfully, I rarely ever polish my pipes. I'm terrible at pipe maintenance...

    Peterson Tara Pipes

I snatched one of those up as soon as they were released. The first time I saw them, I immediately thought about the Tara pipes.

    Peterson Tara Pipes

Very much so. I rarely find them popping up on the estate market. When you narrow it down to a couple specific shapes, that effort becomes even tougher.

    Peterson Tara Pipes

I don't have a pipe from the Tara line, but have been hunting around for a 107 or a 150. They have such a fantastic finish on them.

    What’s for Lunch?

I don't know if it's a blessing or a curse, but there's an Irish pub a block from my church. (Maybe it was the luck of the Irish that landed me in this parish.)... Anyway, Wednesdays I usually eat lunch over there and it's fantastic. It occurred to me today to share with you guys today my usual...

    Chicago 2024: Who's going?

Unfortunately I'm unable to attend anymore and had to cancel my room today. Boo.... Maybe next year.
