I find it better to put them on right before the smoke, I was leaving them on all the time but they get saliva build up around the edges and can cause discoloration of Vulcanite stems, I find it best to take them off after the smoke, clean the stem and softy separately and start fresh for ever... -

Great pipes The African meerschaums, the majority were made by Laxey Pipes Ltd. in Great Britain and then branded with various brands, Peterson, Barling, Comoy, Thomson, Nording, Manx etc., if I could only have one pipe it would definitely be an African meerschaum, congrats on your purchase.- Briar Boy

Two New Peterson's Arrived This Week...
"Were you charged any custom fees by FedEx for the Ashford, astrange?" Not as of yet, I was hit for another pipe but it was over $200 which I think is the limit, this pipe was under so hopefully not, we shall see, took a little for the duties bill to show up for the other one. -
