    MBSD Briars by Piero Vitale

“925” is the hallmark stamp for sterling silver, representing 92.5% silver and 7.5% other metals like copper to strength it for jewelry use.

    Feed my PAD please

From an aesthetic standpoint, there is no doubt Chacom has really stepped up its game the last few years. All the pipes you are considering are well-known brands. Because I prefer ebonite stems over acrylic, I generally spend a few more bucks for an artisan pipe. My two favorite “factory“ makers...

    MBSD Briars by Piero Vitale

The new MBSD series of billiards with silver army mounts and ebonite stems were reasonably priced at $120 for blasts and $130 for smooth and sold out fast. I picked up a blast that arrived today.

    Best Smelling Non-Aromatic Blends

Unfortunately for me, the best room notes usually come from blends that don‘t contain my two favorites: Latakia and Perique.

Claudio Cavicchi SPC 25th Anniversary Smooth Bent Billiard with Silver

The straight grain on the CCCCC grades is about as good as it gets. Only 25 of the 25th Anniversary pipes were made in several different grades. Laudisi owner Sykes Wilford and Shane Ireland have a great video about these pipes on SmokingPipes.com’s YouTube channel.

Anyone Have Thoughts on Christian Ruetz Pipes

Ruetz pipes are in high demand. I paid a deposit and was on his waiting list for quite a while and when I finally received a message that I was next up, I decided my design tastes had changed and voluntary forfeited my deposit. But he does make great pipes.

    Nording Is Closing Up

Thanks for posting the link to the Danish Pipe Shop article. The freehand style of Nording has never been a personal favorite, but I have owned several and they were solid smokers, and I am sad the era is ending. A well-deserved retirement.

Show Off Your Castello Pipes Here!

This unsmoked, smooth stacked Castello billiard with a push stem arrived today from a seller in Israel on eBay, from whom I bought other Castello’s over the years. Stamp “67” = 2014.

    What Were Your Go-To Tobacco’s in 2025?

Tashkent and Ampersand Flake are really fine blends.

    What Were Your Go-To Tobacco’s in 2025?

I did find two empty lids for Cabbie's in my bin, so it would have been in my top 10 this year. I found it a bit edgy fresh out of the tin and have some jarred to see how it ages.

    What Were Your Go-To Tobacco’s in 2025?

Based on your post, I just put a few tins of Sir John’s and No.14 in my cart at SP.com. At least they’re still on sale for Black Friday…

    What Were Your Go-To Tobacco’s in 2025?

Every year I keep the lids from each tin and the label from every can I empty in a tupperware container just to see what I smoked most often during the year. I was a bit surprised to find these were my top blends this year. What were yours? 1. Drucquer & Sons Loch Ness: the quality of the...

Not Looking Likely That Seattle Pipe Club Will Be Back On The Market?

I am looking forward to doing a comparison between the new iteration and the old ones I have cellared. Glad to see it will be back in production.

    Pipe Night in Akron 11/25

One last thing to report. About 5 minutes before we arrived at The Diamond restaurant (that I posted above), a motorist went off the road and struck the front door of the building. I’m not sure how badly the driver was injured, but the employees said it shook the building but no one inside was...

    Pipe Night in Akron 11/25

The Akron event at The Pipe Rack was a huge success with about 60-75 attendee throughout the night. A lot of 30-something attendees were buying their first Savinelli and Peterson pipes from the Laudisi rep. I picked up 6 tins, including two from the Warped series which are really tasty. The...

Interesting Modern Deco Pipe Stands On SP.com

I agree that stands like this often cause the pipes to slide out. But I do have one from a dealer that sold Peterson pipes and it works ok. I got a couple of these 8deco ones from SP.com and may have to add those small round felt tabs that you place under a glass top that sits on a wooden desk...
