Suddenly, all my tobaccos taste salty, even aros. What gives?

Biotene ...hmmmm. I've always been a Listerine guy and when my current bottle is finished I was going to switch to their non-alcohol type now that I am smoking and using more frequently. I had read that smokers shouldn't use the alcohol types. While I haven't experienced severe tongue burn as...

    Pipe Smoking in Movies

No, but I did catch PANIC IN THE STREETS (1950 w/ Richard Widmark & Jack Palance) the other night on TCM. One character is a doctor who has a pipe firmly clenched in his teeth in every scene he is in and delivers all his lines perfectly! Great stuff!

    Calling All Coffee Junkies

Like philobeddoe we have been brewing 8 oclock coffees at home lately. On a whim we picked up some Martinson yesterday as it had a nice price (any port in a storm in this economy). When out and about, our go to coffees are McDonalds Newmans blend and Cumberland Farms Farmhouse blend. Both 99...

    Apple pie craving

Guess you never found that tin Lawrence! As for Middleton's Apple, I'd be lying if I said I didn't enjoy it. Not a lot of "apple" to be honest tho. But I find it mild and bystanders find it pleasant enough. Couple of questions: Why would Middleton decide (or any manufacturer) decide to release...

    New Members, Introduce Yourself!

2nd newbie post: Not sure I should ask this here but I had a question regarding Middleton's Apple tobacco. Why would the manufacturer decide not to make it available in 12 or 14 oz tins? On the opposite note, why would Sugar Barrel be available in large tins and not pouches? The former makes it...

    OTC Tryouts-Half n Half

H&H reminds me of a codger that lived next door when I was a kid. "Papa Jim" always had a bowl of H&H going! I was given a 14oz tin and am thoroughly enjoying it. On an aside, I picked up a pouch of CH at the local grocery(as many reviewers seemed to like it more than H&H). Maybe it was old, but...
