Still smoking too hot after all this time - advice requested

Most cavendishes or aromatics do not usually agree with me, so I don't even attempt to smoke them. My regular rotation would include all sorts of English tobaccos, Latakias, VaPers or straight Virginias. I can smoke all day long too without getting any tongue bite, and drink tea too, but I guess...

    Security Asked Me To Move

I speak Castilian too (Castellano), not so more to denigrate, but to get back to my roots. "Spanish" is a bastardized synonym for "Castilian," which is the proper name. Therefore, you should say "the Castilian language," and not "the Spanish language."

We are getting political now. For me it is not a matter of being racist, or hating Hispanics, but an identity issue. Having said that, there is this big divide in between southern and northern Spain. Andalusians are somewhat darker (I guess you could say swarthy) whereas in northern Spain they...

    How to avoid rim darkening?

None of my pipes has charred rims. So what do I do? I just light the pipe perfectly straight (not at an angle) and keep my lighter at a 90 degrees. When lighting your pipe you should come with your lighter from the top to reach the inner bowl only for a second. The most important thing is not to...

    De Luxe Navy Rolls

I have tried the small cubes so far, but I find it even harder to keep them lit. I have never tried the so called fold in 2 method, but I don´t think this is gonna work as I am already finding trouble with the cubes, which could be seen as a variant. I must admit to the fact I am kinda jealous...

    De Luxe Navy Rolls

Don´t get me wrong (I just finished my bowl) this is a great smoke. I particularly like the end of the bowl, which has a somewhat walnut (roasted) taste to it, but when I read other reviews I see how other people seem to get more out of it than I do. In particular, I cannot understand what it is...

    Security Asked Me To Move

OK, I just found out this is the case in the US, but the Oxford dictionary defines Hispanic as "A Spanish-speaking person, especially one of Latin American descent, living in the US." I am not shaving my beard though. :)

"Hispano" and "Hispanic" don't mean the same thing. I am not Hispanic but Spanish.

    Security Asked Me To Move

Post a link to this entry and I'll shave my beard. That is highly inaccurate. "Spaniard" is a term related to people coming from Spain whereas "Hispanic" is more related to individuals who can speak Spanish in South America.

    De Luxe Navy Rolls

I am smoking this tobacco as we speak to write this post. I usually like most VaPers, but I am not so much into flakes or rolls if you like. I have thoroughly enjoyed this tobacco every time it went in my bowl, but I´d not change it over Elizabethan Mixture, which is one of my staples I usually...

    THE FRANK METHOD

OK then: I'll do that next time

    Security Asked Me To Move

You don't mean to say "from Spanish decent" but "from Hispanic descent." The difference though is very important. I am from Spain myself and if you classed me as "Hispanic" I'd take offence. Just imagine someone classing you as of "British decent" just because of the fact you speak English.

    THE FRANK METHOD

I type in all capital letters as this is a rule I read about in the sticky section.

    THE FRANK METHOD

Have you ever tried the Frank Method when filling your pipe? I have tried it a couple of times myself but I see no difference with my own. The whole point, I guess, is to keep the tobacco loose at the bottom but tight at the top. However, one drawback I see with this method is that it compels...

TO INHALE OR NOT TO INHALE: THAT IS THE QUESTION

@ phil67: I agree with you. What I would say is that we, pipe smokers, are strong passive smokers, for even if you don't inhale, you do at the end of the day. Some people say they train themselves to avoid doing it, but I guess this is all down to a matter of taste. Every time a light up my pipe...

TO INHALE OR NOT TO INHALE: THAT IS THE QUESTION

I don't like cigs, but I do inhale some of it. Sometimes I do it through my nose without quite realizing it. Some other times I do it consciously, that is, with intent.

TO INHALE OR NOT TO INHALE: THAT IS THE QUESTION

ae1pt: I like your signature PS. You don't need an apostrophe in "4 P's." It should read "4 Ps."

TO INHALE OR NOT TO INHALE: THAT IS THE QUESTION

I guess I only inhale 5% of it, but even if you don't we should regard ourselves as passive smokers.

TO INHALE OR NOT TO INHALE: THAT IS THE QUESTION

I usually inhale a few puffs when I smoke, but I know most pipe smokers will try to avoid this. Can I ask you all what your take in this is?
