    Edward's Pipes

I don't see a lot of mention of Edward's pipes. I think they are excellent pipes and are really undervalued. They are all made from Algerian briar, and the ones that I have are very good smokers. There is a searchable history to them too. I also think they color up about as well as a Dunhill...

Show Off Your GBD Pipes (and 2nds)

I have only 3 at present. I have a GBD Pedigree, a GBD Virgin and a GBD Prehistoric. I can't find the Prehistoric, but here are some pictures of the other two. GBD Pedigree GBD Virgin

My days of lackadaisical outdoor pipe smoking are ending.

+1 with dochudson. I have a two way fan that I use. Mine is made by Melvin and is quite old, but I only paid $15.00 for it at a flea market. It is 12 in. wide and 22in. long. Stick it in a window and put a chair, table and lamp beside it and light up. It sucks out almost all the smoke.

Show Off Your James Upshall & Tilshead Pipes

Sorry, I'm a little late to the party, but here are my two James Upshall pipes. Upshall bulldog

    Dunhill?

I agree with you misterlowercase. Nice case. I wish some artisan would start making custom fitted hard cases for pipes. I have several special to me pipes that I would like to have special cases made for. Sorry if this has nothing to do with the original inquiry dixie. Just expressing a desire...

Bad Peterson Pipes - From Where?

I've purchased exactly 3 Peterson pipes. This was in the mid '90s or early 2000's. One was a Sherlock Holmes Professor, which I still have. The other two were also bent system pipes. I remember I paid between $175.00 to around $250.00 for each. I got rid of two because even though they were...

    Any Hot Tea drinkers here?

I like tea. I have been a tea drinker for almost 30 years. Back in '85 I accidently poisoned my system with malathion while doing yard work, and became extremely sensitive to coffee, chocolate, cokes, and aspirin. I don't know why just those things, but I couldn't take any without breaking out...

    The Gourd Calabash Lovers Thread

For anyone who wants a real gourd calabash, there seems to be one for sale right now at Smoker's Haven, unsmoked Pioneer, with stand, for a decent price.

You're right about the coolness. I like to smoke Penzance in mine, as well as other strong tobaccos. It mellows them somewhat, yet retains the flavor.

    Silly Pipes, show us one.

Groovesmith, if you're speaking of my upside down pipe, it's actually a nice smoking pipe. I just twist the stem around 180 degrees and it smokes like a normal pipe. i have tried it upside down and it still smokes well, but I'm always afraid it will drop ashes.

Pipes, The Old And The New

Durham, it looks like you and I may have similar taste in pipes. I really like the looks of that Savinelli. I have the Ascorti Christmas pipe and a very similar Stanwell bulldog, of which I will post a picture. Great bunch of pipes all in all. Stanwell Colonial 191

    Silly Pipes, show us one.

Yeah, too many penis oriented pipes for me too. Try this Don Carlos upside down pipe.

    Randy Wiley or Nording

I have a Wiley Patina, and love the look and feel of it, but that happens to be one of my complaints also. It gurgles after about 5 min. of lighting up. I have had it since around 2000, and try it out from time to time, hoping that this time it will smoke right, but no, it will start...

How Many Pipes Do You Own?

I own between 50 and 60 pipes. Most were bought when I first became a pipe smoker. During the first ten years I must have spent over $10,000.00 just accumulating this&that. It became ridiculous. I have since sold off most that I wasn't smoking, and just kept the ones that were good smokers and...

Pipes Destroyed: Foul and Most Unnatural Murder!

Not to sound too ghoulish, but it is interesting to note the depth that the tar and nicotine penetrated the bowls. How long have you smoked these pipes?

Well, I guess not. But thanks newbroom. I've enjoyed it over the years.

    Concob Shanks

Does anyone know when Missouri Meerschaum stopped using real cob shanks on their corncob pipes? I only have one cob but I've had it for close to 25 years I think. I still smoke it occasionally but would like to get another. I would prefer to get one with a real cob shank instead of the wooden...

Just Picked Up a Leather Bound Journal

I used to have a signed copy of Richard Hacker's The Ultimate Pipe Book that I picked up in a Tinder Box store. I kept notes on all the blends that I had tried during the early 90's. I remember that I had notes on over 200 blends. Somehow I misplaced it during a move. If any of you ever come...

    Christmas Pipes In July

Hi Durham I have that very same pipe. No. 24/100. It's a nice smoking pipe. I bought mine from the old tobacco shop on E. Cary St. in Richmond Va. as a Christmas present to myself right after they came out. I've had a few other Christmas pipes but this is the only one I have kept. I usually...

    Tea & Pipes

I went through the trouble of searching for "the" tea for me, about 20 years ago, when I found I could no longer drink coffee. I went through all the black, white, oolong and green varieties I could find locally. I'm sure there are some I didn't try, but I did try quite a few. I finally...
