Cornell & Diehl Haunted Bookshop - Pipe Tobacco Reviews

With everyone seeming to have an opinion on this blend, how is it that when I tab over to LTR.com, I only stumble upon two reviews (one from the front page)?

Pipeworks and Wilke Vermont Maple Cavendish

Vermont Maple Cavendish on LTR.com. Looks like my rant didn't go completely unheeded. :-)

    Salesmanship? (a little long)

Heheh, you, me, and everyone else here...

    Adirondack Northway

Are these one and the same as the HPCS Adirondack blends? (Sorry for the question out of left field...)

    Knute 7 Freehand (Karl Erik)

To expand on this, this is my method. If the stem is in decent shape (like the one pictured): I'll clean up the surface with micromesh, but this is just to get rid of any gunk that may have formed a layer around the button area. I then heat up a needle (ok, so I use a metal scribe) to red hot...

    Crumble Cake Question

Mmm, Ten Russians is one of my "go-to" daily smokes - in fact, the first blend I enjoyed so much I dedicated a pipe to it. I would highly recommend looking into Stimulus Package as well, I find it slightly more complex but just as kick-your-rear awesome.

    Knute 7 Freehand (Karl Erik)

Agreed - and those aren't too hard to steam out. Very nice score, and welcome to the world of pipe-smoking!

I'm Smoking Glue In My Pipe.

Agreed. Also great for restoring pipes; they can get into all the little crannies around the button. Because they are light, cheap, and offer a great smoke once the glue/shank has been broken in - which, I will add, is still a quicker process than getting the nastiness out of one of the dipped...

    Alcohol & Salt treatments "Don'ts"

Welcome to the bords nsfisher; before Hobie asks, we need some pics of both fish and the Maritimes! Only place in this country that gives BC a run for its money when it comes to amazing scenery I say. As for your Brig, what did you clean it with? It sounds like a chemical reaction to me.

Luxury Tobacco Reviews - A Constructive Rant

Perhaps a stickied thread where people can request blends to be added, so said people with powers can know what to add? I know that what I randomly buy isn't going to be the same as what withnail, or Cyndi, or Kevin (well, ok, maybe not Kevin since he tends to want to photograph everything I...

PAD/TAD got the best of me.

This was my second aromatic, and first decent tobacco; I think I may just have to grab a pouch on the way home!

    Straight Volcano I Carved

Maurizio, sir, you certainly have a way with briar.

Luxury Tobacco Reviews - A Constructive Rant

Over the past couple of months, I have noticed an increase in posts condemning PipesMagazine.com's sister site, LuxuryTobaccoReviews.com. Often, these posts take on the same tone, pointing out LTR.coms glaring deficiency, a lack of actual reviews. At the same time, I have noticed an increase in...

    Searching the Forum

Unfortunately, I can't help you with searching existing posts, but there is a very underused function that will make all future searches easier if people would just start using it. Perhaps try searching through members who have posted in the thread? Click into their name, and look under...

    Guns or bullets?

Living outside of the U.S. may give me something of a more troubled perspective; but I tend to buy tobacco, and forgo pipe purchases (unless something really calls to me, or the price is just too good to pass up), and have around 20 pieces of briar and meerschaum that see action (and a half...

    $100 combo

Ontario; with a handle like that, I suspect you may be in Canada. Both Brigham, and their sister line Capri are readily available pretty much everywhere, and smoke wonderfully. The Brigham tobaccos are also excellent (and a standard...they blend for Schefield and Sons), as well as some MacBaren...

New Dunhill Tobacco Collaboration w/The Rolling Stones

I got stuck doing the dirty work here. It's a real beggars breakfast of a blend...almost like smoking goats head soup. The aftermath will leave you tattooed black and blue, and seeking emotional rescue. This is one blend that will be hard to keep put of our heads.
