    holy smoke

    I was cleaning my latice meerschaum using a soft brush with alcohol and a chip popped out of it. Right at the area where you push the tobacco down to in order to light it. About 1/4 inch from the rim. I was trying to patently remove a cake that hd built up inside it. I don't know what I did wrong.

    When I started with my pipe it took some trial and error just to load it. (And of coarse still be able to smoke it)(by the way I may be still doing it wrong). So......are there any pipe loading and tamping methods or secrets you would like to share for the newbie?
