I pick up a lot of Older pipes in this manner throughout the summer. Best part is: Here in Nova Scotia, most antique dealers have NO clue what they are actually worth. Usually get em for a fraction of their value.
This one cost me $20.00, lol
Super glue and clamp it on the outside of the bowl. Very thin coating of JB Weld on the crack on the inside of the bowl. Seals it at both ends of the crack.
Nothing wrong with a Grabow mate. 90% + of us have at least one of em. After you get it broken in, you will enjoy it for years. Just a bit of advice though, if you use the paper filter, keep a fresh new one in at least every 2 smokes. Better yet, opt for the 6mm Balsa Wood filter.
In the living room in front of computer, at work during outside breaks. We got 2, half hour breaks on Sanitation rather than 15, 15, and 1/2 hour lunch.
49yrs old..... spent 20 of it cutting and stump piling 8' wood. Back is shot, knees are shot, neck is shot, arthritis in hands, but........ still working and life is good.
Wow mate, nice pipes. I have to add something here and that is that you just made me a bit excited. I HAVE a Sven Lars Freehand that I picked up last yr. with other estates. ($60.00 for 9 pipes.) I didn't realize they were worth so much. Maybe I should pay more attention sometimes.
