Rate of Value-Growth as Tins Age?
As it is with anything, it is worth whatever some dummy is willing to pay for it. Some tins are expensive because you cant get them anymore, but this dummy won't pay more than 20$ for a tin. I traded a lb of Hodgdon Longshot for 2 tins of Frog on a Log, I'd say that's a solid trade.- jewman22

Labatt Blue? maybe 10yrs ago before they ruined it. Gotta be Moosehead buddy. Does tobacco that has been well stored for more than 20 years get better?
I'd imagine, same as wine or whiskey, it would depend on the blend. Meaning some get better, some get worse and some don't really change a noticeable amount. While I don't have a lot of experience with aged tobacco, my favourite has 21yrs of age on it, and it is smoother than when it was first...- jewman22

September was Rough on my PAD
So far, I've got 5 half bowls through the Rattray's and the Ser Jacopo. 3 bowls through the Calabash and 1 bowl a piece in the Bentleys. Haven't smoked the Grabow. Pipe tobacco cut preference
Given the choice, I prefer the ribbon cut. It provides the most consistent burn rate for me without the prep time. While I do greatly appreciate the taste and enhanced flavour that comes from Plugs, I find them annoying to prepare. That being said, most of my favourite tobaccos are Flakes/Ready...- jewman22

How Many Bowls are Sufficient to "Try" a New (to You) Blend?
3, In 3 different shaped pipes. If I like it I will then start changing bowl size to determine the best pipe in which to consume said blend. If I'm not overly fond, I may give it a chance again after a few months in a jar. If I hate it, it comes to work with me to be hand rolled into cigarettes...- jewman22
