    Translucent Meerschaum

    I've got a Bekler/Butera that was quite translucent, there were areas where it looked like you could see into it a good quarter inch. As it's been smoked the translucent areas have colored quickly, it now looks like there are layered scalloped patterns developing. I've only smoked it a dozen...

    Lemonade, for both pipes and cigars. I never have found any alcohol that I thought actually enhanced the taste of the tobacco.

    that's where most of the juice is at, and the top of the shank there is where it has the shortest distance from the draft hole to the surface. all my meers have the deepest color there, even the ones I've smoked exclusively with a coloring bowl.

    I stop every summer. Houston does not make it pleasant to smoke outside. Longer cessations have occurred a few times when my migraines would become too frequent. i've since figured out what causes them though.

    Any Opinions on Okoume vs Gourd Calabash?

    even the largest ones look a bit small, which may be due to how much heavier the wood is compared to gourd. The large Pioneer calabashes had chambers over 1" in diameter.
