Thx Mick! I gave up on the bleach routine... didn't like how rough some stems came out. Right now I'm using Barkeepers Friend and lots of elbow grease. I'm very happy with the results. I will give the OXY a try, if I don't like it, there's no waste. Into the laundry it goes!
Thanks Rick, maybe I'll give her a ring. I thought it had a 50's /60's vibe to it. The bottom sticker is faded but definitely MM... metallic gold and red.
Thanks Eric. I've seen Aristocob's vids and his site.
Vesp: I thinks it's pretty sharp myself! Good smoker, like most cobs. I'm working on...
Does anyone know of a website or book that dates cobs? I have one I've restored and have been smoking and another I'm working on today and I'm just curious. Not value $$ curious, just curious about the history and history in general.
I've taken to mixing some Middleton's Walnut in with my aro's. The room note still pleases the Mrs., and the Walnut gives something for me to enjoy. I find that RLP-6 gives a little more flavor back than some other aros.
Does the oxyclean leave the stems rough like after a bleach soaking?
Also, has anyone tried Barkeepers Friend on stems? Saw a tip on youtube and am trying it now.
I love my Royal Danish! Picked it up in a vintage clothing shop for pennies! Good lookin' and good smokin'! I think I saw yours on the 'bay. Very nice! Congratz!
I think my favorite brewery right now would be the folks at Blue Moon. That said, I am a sucker for the beers of days gone buy: Miller High Life, PBR, Schlitz, Schaefer etc... Stumbled upon some Utica Club a few weeks ago... takes me back :-)
Thx Dave, nice chart! A buddy of mine rec'ved a bottle of Glenlivet 12yo for Christmas. My budget dictates blends, and I am currently having a love affair with John Barr Red!
'bout 1/2 way thru according to the news here in upstate NY. Expecting 15" by the time it's thru. 1st snowblowing run is done. Will hit it again tonight after (hopefully!) the storm is over. Cold!!
I added them to my internet sellers list a short time ago. Liked the pricing I saw. Glad to hear they are good dealing with. Need to check out JR Cigar that cacooper talked about in his post. Good thread, thx!
Good for you man! No work here other than snowblowing and shoveling. The VA is paying my way for some job training at the local VOTEC/BOCES and school is closed this week. Settling down to some chores, but 1st a smoke and coffee! :-)
Heh! I like the Super Cafe vids on Youtube. Funny stuff! I should be asleep... this storm is piling on the snow... my first snowblow run should be around 5am... I'm gonna hate myself!
