As noted, it does have the nic going on and sometimes that is the necessity. I would however like to hear of some alternate Virginias that get high marks with more flavor. This one can be somewhat harsh and bitter. SC- starcat

McClelland Syrian Super Balkan
Revisiting this one today and finding some nice richness and subtle character coming through along with some of the spiciness of the perique. The mushroom character seems more predominant when this blend is on the moist side. I seem to prefer it dried out a bit. Its working well today. SC- starcat

I don't have alot of experience with VA blends, but I have a like-hate relationship with Briar Fox thusfar by C&D. It can be quite bitter, harsh and one dimensional, but the kick is fantastic........something alluring about it but cruel nontheless. I do not find this one sweet in the least...- starcat
