I'm not much of a Burley guy, but here's my top five.
MacBaren's Old Dark Fired
Peterson's Irish Flake
Park-Lane's Fireside
C&D's Three Friars
L,J, Peretti's Thanksgiving Day
Take it slow and easy, cattle can go from mellow to frantic and dangerous in the blink of an eye. If they supply you with a good cattle pony all you'll need to do is hold on and stay alert.
Yeah Mike, I prefer the older diamond stem Castello, but then again I prefer older pipes from the old traditional pipe makers in general. This is meant in no way to take anything away from Queen's beautiful new briars.
Now, I'm not saying that I've never overpaid for a pipe, but my biggest disappointments purchasing online have involved the dimensions such as size and weight of a pipe (no jokes please).
In no particular order... Emmylou Harris, Carly Simon, Patsy Cline, Reba Mcentire. I had a crush on 3 of the 4 at one time or another, Patsy Cline died when I was just a little guy, but my mom was a big fan so I knew her music from an early age.
My answer would be no, but I also prefer older Castello’s, Ashton’s, and Charatan’s, etc. I prefer 1960 or older Dunhill’s and 1980 or older on just about everything else with the exception of the modern day carvers.
No offence to anybody, but sometimes I really think we over think these things. I say experiment until you find the blend you enjoy smoking with the pipe. I smoke mostly Virginia and VaPer flakes, and I enjoy both in my 55's. Enjoy your pipe!
