This makes #11 out of the 12 piece set of Sterncrest's I've been working on. This old LHS has been on quite a journey throughout it's life of roughly 70 years. East coast, west coast, British Columbia, and back again.
I received this pipe in an estate lot in near death condition. With a little...
This is a LHS Sterncrest Fire Thorn I recently added to the collection. I've been doing a little bit to it off and on for a couple of weeks. I'm not sure what the difference between a Sterncrest and a FireThorn Sterncrest is, but this is the first Sterncrest I've ever seen with any fills. It has...
This is a Kaywoodie FlameGrain 99b 4 hole stinger I picked up at an estate sale. A great survivor example that has been spared from the ebay slaughter house of "restorations." The stampings are crisp and the lines are sharp.
The stem was a complete mess on this LHS Sterncrest when I received it, so I ordered a Cumberland style acrylic stem replacement from Pipe Makers Emporium for under $5. The replacement stems are oversized and need to be trimmed to fit the pipe. I don't have a tennon cutter so I sent it out to a...
The Pedigree is the highest grade in the GBD lineup. The bulldog and squat bulldog have been on my holy grail pipe list among a few others. A friend from the forum who wishes to remain anonymous let this beauty out of his collection in trade for some resto work. I buy and trade a lot of pipes...
Not affiliated with Pipes Mag that I know of, but nonetheless, a pipe babe.
Caution: Side effects may include Lumberman, Lovat, or Canadian.

This Brebbia Alpina cavalier was a combined effort reconditioning with my friend from Marvic Pipes USA, Gary Balestrieri and myself. When I received the pipe it was missing the end cap, and the original stem was oversized at the stem shank connection. I sent it off to Gary and he carved a ball...
I just received my Marvic Devil Anse Lovat today. I had this big beautiful baby commissioned from my friend Gary Balestrieri. Aside from drilling the bowl chamber, Gary makes all his pipes by hand.
I love hybrids of classic pipe shapes, so we brainstormed and came up with this. This a huge pipe...
I recently finished piecing together my pipe cabinet. I've had the bottom part of the cabinet for a long time, and I've been looking to add a top section for about just as long. Of all the places, I found the top section in my uncles garage. It just looked like a good fit. I took measurements...
Don't fret over those oxidized stems any longer. Here is the ultimate fix. White-out.

I forgot to take before shots of this one, but I have the sellers photo's. One of these days, I'm going to get a real camera. I use my iPhone to take pictures and they either turn out too dark or with glare. Unless I use a bright light, the grain doesn't show up in the shots.
This is the first...
I think the previous owner of this poor old pipe had confused it with a hammer from the looks of the rim. I've been working towards a 7 day set of Sterncrest billiards, and this makes number 5. Some say billiards are boring, but they are my favorite pipe to smoke. For me, nothing smokes like a...
This poor old dog was left for dead. The only thing good it had going for it was pristine stampings. One can never have too many Savinelli bulldogs so I put it on the operating table and tried to save it.
The rim was a disaster. I knew I would have to give it a major topping and was afraid it...
Somebody buy these pipes before he's thrown in the doghouse.

LHS Sterncrest Silver Band #42
Although these Sterncrest's aren't as elegant as some of the Certified Purex shapes, I love how these old briars smoke. I'm sure there's an exception to rule but every Sterncrest I've seen are sterling banded push stems.
I put together a fitted case for my grandfathers old Jobey Unicorn. According to pipephil.eu, Jobeys were made in England before 1987. My grandfather bought the majority of his pipes in the 1950's - 60's, so I'm guessing these are from the gold rhondelle English made era.
With P&C and Smoking pipes sales this month, I've racked up few tins. I've discovered some new to me fantastic blends this month. Benjamin Hartwell's Chesdin Mixture is wonderful. Strong and very smooth. Dunhill's Baby's Bottom is outstanding. After only a few bowls of this, it has become hands...
