First off I'll say Hello! and welcome, you have a very nice pipe and I hope you get many many enjoyable smokes from it!
1) Most pipes already have a coating, it looks like your pipe has one, but, some people like to 'treat' their pipe and break them in anyway. You can fill your bowl about half...
Menthol pipe tobacco probably wont taste much like menthol. In a cigarette, the menthol is actually in the filter and not the tobacco, hence the flavour is so clear. With pipe tobacco it would be more of an aromatic than a flavour.
My favourite aromatic so far has got to be Peterson Connoisseurs Choice, its quite a sweet tobacco, and gets great reviews. Either that or Sunset Breeze.

Thanks man, ha ha Ardors are meant to be quite good but but its upto you to decide whether the quality of the pipe and the smoke justifies the price. But I cant afford an Ardor :P
Looking for a new pipe and I've heard that Mario Grandi are very nice pipes, Having a look around that look reasonably priced and get good reviews on YouTube.

I have a couple of no-name pipes and a peterson, all of which are briar. Recently...
I smoked all three and although they were a nice smoke and I would definatley buy again, I'm still having trouble detecting the 'flavour' in the tobacco. I mean the cherry smell really strongly and I smoked it in my brand new peterson to break it in and although the reviews say the the cherry...
Ahh the pics are up now, i wasnt able to see them earlier, anyway it looks really nice! I've never seen one of those before but it looks really cool :)
