How cool is that? I second TMF's sentiment.

    What did Indians smoke

@5star LOL. To be fair, there were a lot of other topics in this particular textbook that were of much greater "controversy" than tobacco.

    What did Indians smoke

Really great thread. Thanks for all those sharing what they know. One of my favorite classes in school was Medicinal Botany (and also my most expensive textbook). I recall the use of tobacco was discussed in some detail, but it was so long ago... well, that's another thread.

Adding Different Tobacco Blends to One Pipe

So, to "spice" up a nice, but kind of boring, Virginia flake I want to smoke, this evening I added a small amount of 1-Q on top of my 3/4 loaded pipe. I liked the result, and wonder if anyone else does this sort of customization right in ones bowl...

Mac Baren Symphony - Antique Store Find

While in Kentucky this weekend and visiting antique stores with family I stumbled across a stack of these - still sealed. I think these are from about year 2000. What to do, what to do...

    How did you all experiment?

    * went to a pipe show - everyone wanted to give me samples - which I accepted * whenever I buy tobacco at my local B&M, they give me a bit of whatever is open * I read JimInks reviews * buy a tin of something new about once a month * swap records (the vinyl stuff) and tobacco with a musician...

Smoking Any New (To You) Blends?

I just tried C&D Speakeasy - a Navy Flake. I love it's complexity, but the nic is too much for me! It's like the Imperial Stout of tobacco. I also picked up a sample of Peter Stokkebye Luxury Twist Flake and I really like it.
