    Hope For the Beginner

Hello all. This month I've made my 1st year of pipe smoking. Prior attempts were made in times past, but i had always just set it aside. Honestly, it was because it wasn't pleasant at all for me and not worth the trouble to figure it out. Mistakes in technique were many and my initial tobacco...

    Relighting

I wouldn't focus on how many relights. Mine depends on packing methods, tobacco cut, and individual pipes. It will get easier as time goes by.

    A Middle Earth Review

This is my first attempt at a review; so hopefully it won't be too terrible. The Country Squire Tobbacconist "Middle Earth" blends intrigued me because i was reading The Hobbit and LOTR. Below are the 3 blends I've tried so far. Bag End On the company site, it says this is a Traditional...

Phrases, Words and Mispronunciations That Bother You

"That's the way we've always done it", doesn't mean there isn't a better or more efficient way. That one bugs me tremendously. "Duh" or "Doi" are some I can't stand as well.

    What Do You Re-Purpose

I take altoid and tobacco tins, stuff them full of mini-survival kits and give them to friends and family for their vehicles or ORVs. Para-cord, fire starter, fishing tackle, band-aids, survival cards, etc, various little things like that.

    Always Say Something...

I believe the same. Knowing only Louisiana law, and Florida's being very similar; Zimmerman had already called police and was told not to follow. He followed Treyvon and thusly created the confrontation because Treyvon was simply walking through the neighborhood. Zimmerman was in the wrong...

    Always Say Something...

I taught Louisiana CHP classes for several years. I spent a large time going over Louisiana law and then gave 3 stories of various situations that turned bad for the person using his CCW. Even if deemed legal by law; civil suits are always possible and ruin your life.

Jim's John Cotton's Double Pressed Creme Review.

I enjoy this blend, i like the fact that the vanilla isn't heavily found. It makes for a nice smooth bowl IMO. I'm a fan of the whole JCDP line; they're all champs in my book. The DP Kentucky kick started me heavily into DFK blends; love the stuff.

    Pipe Smoking Mishaps

Holes in my favorite Harley shirt, as well as couple more shirts. Dropped one of my Savinelli's that my wife gave me, but only sustained some dents in the briar. I have distributed a newly open can of snuff due to driving and an uncontrolled sneeze when i was about to take a dip out of it...

    Forgot My Humidor Completely

Boveda also makes some seasoning packs, around 85% i think. I've heard some people rejuvenate their humidors on occasion, not sure if it's necessary.

    Matches vs. Lighters

I generally use my Kiribi Takara or a bic; but after my first seeing this thread, i tried some matches. Wasn't as hot during relights and seemed to give good control for an even light across the bowl. I generally have an issue with broken flake making a center ember, but matches help keep it...

    What Cigar are You Smoking?

A coworker brought me a Partagas Serie D No4 Cuban. Was an excellent smoke.
