    TAD Purchases

Always wanted to try Esoterica (Stonehaven, and Penzance). But I always miss out. By the time I find out they are in stock, I am usually too late. I checked FB and saw that Mars had a cancelled order 30 seconds from Mars posting. So I rush to do the order at Mars and WHAM, I got them both (8 oz...

    SG St James Flake

Smoking a bowl, watching Ducks vs Chicago hockey game. Wow, this tobacco is really good. There's a good amount of sweetness, and some peppery spice in the background. Very rich tasting that lingers on the palate. Has a very nice aroma. A bit of a head spinner as well. I was told this tobacco...

    Peterson's 3P's (Perfect Plug)

It comes in a solid brick that has to be sliced with a sharp knife and a heavy hand. It can be hard to slice if you have not tried slicing it before.

    Peterson's 3P's (Perfect Plug)

I did an experiment with this fine tobacco. The first few bowls I used the rub out method of preparing the sliced tobacco. Then filled the bowl to smoke. I thought the flavors were pretty good as described in the original post. Then I decided to try the fold and stuff method. I thought it would...

    La Escepcion Pipe Tobacco (Cuba)

Very spicy from the start, lots of earth, straight forward Cuban tobacco flavors. The spiciness tones down as you smoke down the pipe. Smoke slow and steady will yield generous amount of flavors. Really enjoyable pipe tobacco. If you can get a hold of this tobacco, and enjoy Cuban tobacco, do...

    La Escepcion Pipe Tobacco (Cuba)

One more thing, if you can get to the island, I was told it cost around $5 bucks per brick.

    La Escepcion Pipe Tobacco (Cuba)

The only place I have been able to get it is from the cigar shops in Cuba like the La Casa Del Habanos shops. I don't go to the island but I have friends that do. They mule it back for me. I have never seen it in any tobacco shops in Europe, Asia, or Latin Americas. So my guess is you can only...

    La Escepcion Pipe Tobacco (Cuba)

A fine brick of pipe tobacco from Cuba. I look forward to trying this. It is a bit dry so I will be letting it sit in a mason jar to rehydrate (slowly) for a couple weeks. I'll be in Mexico on Friday for a two week trip, so I will be hitting this pipe tobacco when I return. 8) I unwrapped...

Favorite place to enjoy a nice bowl

The man cave...actually it's a tool shed converted to a room. Just had work done on it including insulation and ac unit, so now it's my smoking room. Getting LazyBoy recliners next.

What tobacco would you like to try that you have not got right now?

G&H Dark Plug. I have really been enjoying the SG Cob Plug, I might want to give the G&H a try.

    Gawith tobaccos

That's great news. I should be ready to replenish my burned stash by the time the bulks hit my favorite shops.

How much tobacco do you buy?

My purchase habits have been spotty over the past year depending on the availability of Samuel Gawith. Lately it has been a bit heavy do to the recent upturn in the availability of SG. But if I average it out over the past year, I buy 1 pound a month. My smoking habit is around 2 bowls a day...

The best bang for buck tobaccos

Just finished a bowl of PS Balkan Supreme. It is my first dive into Balkans and the flavors I get is toasty oatmeal sweetened with brown sugar. I know it sounds strange, but it is an incredibly pleasant smoking experience.

The best bang for buck tobaccos

Peter Stokkebye Balkan Supreme is damn good tobacco, and an outstanding deal for the price.

    Lakeland Essence

I tried my first G&H tobacco the other day, Best Brown #2. My guess is the lakeland essence you are referring too is that floral note when you first light the tobacco. At first I was not sure what to think. Kind of reminded me of a hint of soap. but as I keep smoking my Best Brown #2, it is...
