What I object to in this thread is the length and tone of the replies to Dan, and later to me regarding use of the term, "the longer side." It's clear what that term means, and no one here gives a fusty ruck what Adobe or web designers use that's different.
If we're talking credentials, I used...
Ok, your iPad's screen resolution is: "2160-by-1620-pixel resolution at 264 pixels per inch (ppi)"
The camera can produce 8 megabyte images— way more than than virtually any site will tolerate. Many on this site weigh in at 200-300 KBs.
So, software used in down-rezzing makes a difference, but...
There sure as hell won't be any Dodger fans at our table! Nor political discussions that could be upsetting. One benefit for keeping it small with compatible folks.
A very happy day to all! I will be trying to focus on gratitude for the many things that are, and have been given.
What a crap article. Full of wrong opinions and a lousy outlook, written by a bitter person.
I love turkey, but admittedly, with dressing, cranberries and gravy if eating hot. Skip the gravy with sandwiches and add some mayo and onion salt. Delicious.
Turkey soup! Makes great stock. I don't...
Granted many (most?) images are in landscape mode, but it's not width or length. It's the longer side, so there's no confusion for images that are taller than wide.
As asked upthread, what's the native resolution of your iPad?
And a link to a "blurry" photo, please. The one example was not...
This has been asked and answered in depth. The answer is 1024 pixels on the longer side, whether vertical, horizontal or square.
You have failed to provide a good example of blurry wrt your images here. Yes, your software resampling to size should do a better job than the PM software, but...
Inserting image is the way to go.
As to the difference that is bothering the OP, it become less when the PM image is enlarged by clicking on it. It's also a more nuanced photo than the average, with reflections, large number of objects and semi-transparent lid of the box.
PipeIT: Please post...
Last one, and this just to show the effect of too few pixels, a result of zooming in, cropping, zooming more..... There's a noticeable halo of confused pixels, esp around the turkey on the right.
Dan, I value your opinions on many things.
Closer? Hell yeah! But I was seeing if I could salvage something decent from an off hand snap with a now old iPhone from a golf cart.
What year iPad? Regardless, not very high on sharp pixels. You might be able to use the Sharpen function, and increase contrast somewhat. Yes, the software here downsizes, and I doubt your matching the pixel count before upload will help.
Have you a more recent device you could use?
