My chef ( wife) just served me the best Ruben sandwich ever. Thick large light and dark rye with super tender corned beef, sauerkraut, Swiss cheese topped with creamed mustard and pan fried. And now to sleep.
I think the confusion enters the picture when shops sourced pipes from many makers and stamped their name. Many may not admit this fact. I have several that may have been sold off as seconds by upscale makers.
Have used a Zippo for many years and the thumb callus to prove it. Just returned from local Indian res. with a handful of non refillable Bic knockoff that sell for 25 cents each, work great.
After watching these skilled master craftsman, I will never again bitch about the price. I am fortunate to have a pipe maker that makes a quality straight grain pipes without a lathe and even drilles dead on draft holes by hand it took 40 years to perfect.
Little known US maker from AR. He was a accomplished photographer. Pipe dates to late 1980’s. It is great to have a pipe shown on Pipedia. Looks this artisan worked just a few years. His web is no longer active and may be deceased.
This rack started out as antique large hinged sewing spool holder. I removed the dowels and drilled holes. It has served me well as I prefer to store and display my pipes stem down.
