Best Pipe Shop In Your Area
In Coeur d'Alene, Idaho, there are two shops: Coeur d'Alene Pipe and Tobacco (formerly, Prim's Smoke Shop)downtown. Small shop with limited selection. It once was the best shop in town for both pipes and cigars, but now seems more of a "tobacco" gift shop. There is no place to smoke on site...- jojoc

How Does this Drilling Look to You?
just my .02 If you like the pipe, go with it. Perfection is nice, but..... I have several pipes where the drilling is not "perfect", but the pipes still smoke fine. Bits, Sleeves, Etc...
I guess I have sensitive teeth, but I use the soft bits on all of my pipes. I find that clenching is much more comfortable than without. I may give the tape discussed in the post linked in Wolf's post a try. I agree that I don't really like the look of the soft bits, but the smoking is much...- jojoc

Travel Case
Thanks guys! This gives me some good ideas. I have been tempted in the past with some of the leather pipe rolls - I really like the look, but I don't like the price, and I question really how functional it would be. Seems that they are a bit bulky once rolled up with a couple pipes in them... -

What do you drink with your smoke?
If at the lounge, port (they only have a beer/wine license). If at home, bourbon (Woodford, Knob Creek, Blanton's, or whatever I have at the time) or Trader Joe's blended Scotch. Some times water, or nothing at all. My drink choice habit was driven by smoking cigars, which I find the hard...- jojoc

First week - Many, Many Questions... Beginner help pls!
Based on your description, sounds like you need more tobacco. My approach is to cub the top of the bowl with one had and fill the chamber until it is overflowing a little, press it down with my fingers until about half way, repeat and press down a little firmer, and top it off one more time and...- jojoc

Royal Comoys 80
I picked this Royal Comoy up some time back. Would also appreciate any help in dating it. Based on the 3-piece "C" in the stem, i can date it to pre-1980, but that's about all I have.
