Too windy for an enjoyable pipe today, so I’m smoking a Drew Estate Factory Smoke Sungrown Toro.

Forgot Where I Left Some Tobacco, and Still Can't Find It!

I have the occasional blend/tin that I can’t seem to find for the life of me. Could it be the tin monster, dreaded relative of the sock monster? We may never know.

    Cornell & Diehl Folklore

I concur. Every recent small batch limited release has sold out quickly, so I’d call their strategy pretty solid. Whether or not I’ll get any is TBD.

    Edgeworth Ready Rubbed Tin

Jackpot! The sutliff match is one of my favorite burleys, and I have some pounds put away. But having never tasted the original, I can’t say that I am not a bit envious of that score!

    Whew! Not for Me!

I like Star of the East also, but it is really Latakia-heavy. The residual smell is Latakia residue I'm sure, so I'd either smoke another non-latakia blend in it to mitigate the smell, or do an alcohol spritzed paper towel reaming of the chamber, and an alcohol dipped pipe cleaner in the stem...

    Hearth and Home Anniversary Kake

That's fair. The "VaPer" ness of Anni Kake is certainly different than a more unadulterated VaPer like Louisiana Red. I think that is what I both love about it and what I can find cloying if repeated too often.

    Hearth and Home Anniversary Kake

I’ve got a few pounds of Anni Kake put away. I really like it after 5 years or so of aging. It does get a bit too sweet when smoked repeated, so I keep it for more of an occasional treat.

***What Are You Smoking, January 2022?***

Drucquer First Amendment in a Jesse Jones. I have had this tin open since summer, and it's a lot better now that it has had some time open. The rich tart sweetness of the VA has increased and melded with the Latakia and Perique to make it a real treat!

    Your Favorite Sandwich?

We cook some really amazing Chilean Lomitos. Slow cooked marinated pork loin sliced thin and dredged in salsa verde, on challa bread topped with smashed avocado, tomato, onions and good thick mayonnaise. Phenomenal!
