Does Anyone Know Anything About Mitchell Thomas Pipes?

In any case, to beat the horse flat, if I had a half dozen more pipes that smoked and looked as good, I would have 6 damn nice looking and smoking pipes.

Does Anyone Know Anything About Mitchell Thomas Pipes?

This is mine. Smokes as good, maybe better, than my Aldo bent.

Does Anyone Know Anything About Mitchell Thomas Pipes?

Actually, they are not bad pipes. The are Aldo Velani seconds, so far as I can tell. I have one I bought at a Ft. Worth, Texas head shop (long story, and I think I have told it here, before). One of my best smokers, and a damn handsome pipe.

In praise of Dr Grabow pipes

I have several Grabows in my regular rotation. They smoke well enough, and whenever I grab one, I am not thinking "I am going to have a worse smoke than the Peterson, but I am going to have to deal with it". If I don't like how a pipe smokes, it just doesn't stay in the rotation. I will say...

    Women Pipe Smokers

My wife smokes an occasional pipe. She has about 4-5 pipes, two of them church wardens. She breaks them out maybe once every week or two.

    Houston Area

I am in the greater Houston area. I know another in Conroe. My schedule is hectic, so i make no promises, but if you are just talking a 4 or 5 person meetup, the Briar Shoppe is your best bet. Central location, pipe friendly, and if you don't try to make it too "pipe clubbish", you can have some...

Do Meerschaum pipes need to rest

Russ Ouelette agrees with me on the following, so it's good enough for me. It is the general belief (with some notable dissenters) that briar pipes should be rested for the number of days as the bowls smoked through it. So in other words, smoke a bowlful in a briar, rest that pipe at least a...

    English Blends

Instead of thinking strictly along "English lines", include some Balkan style, some English/Aro hybrids like the JustForHim middle earth stuff, and Navy and Navy influenced (Escudos, Black Frigate, etc.)

    $165 Northern Briars Mistake

Had a girlfriend once who had one breast slightly larger than the other. Didn't bother me one bit.

Pipe Stand from EJames (pic heavy)

A very masculine piece of work.

    Need to Vent a Bit

Hell, I been through so many weird relationships and breakups it is a surprise I even care to continue on with them. Am married now, been so for 4 years, second wife. And it is good. But I am still a handful in a relationship. I can dig the feelings. They are pretty universal, I think. I have...

I really like that CDL I got from you some time ago. Wish you would part with some of those adjustos you have laying around in the pipe safe.....

    Leaf stems in the baccy

I got a bag of "Old Toby" once that was about unsmokable for 1/4 the weight. The stuff looked like bark mulch.

    Experimenting with Old School Blends

I smoke a bit of Sir Walter, but a couple ounces will last me a long time. It is a good mix with something like BCA or 1Q. Have wanted to try Sugar Barrel since seeing it, but have never pulled the trigger

    Kaywoodie

The older Adjustomatic style grabows are the way to go, not so much the filter pipes. I have a 1938 Kaywoodie in pristine condition, that is in my regular rotation. Adjusted for inflation, the price listed on the literature for the day would put it in today's prices in the $60-$100 mark. If you...

BCA, Forgot How Good It Really Is....

BTW, a rough half and half mix of BCA and 1Q is quite nice. As well, either, mixed in about a 25%-50% ratio to a codger burley makes a nice smoke, too. As noted, very nice and easy smokes. Kind of like a coffee with lots of cream. Not a bad thing to have once in a while, but not really what you...
