    Your Favorite Pipes?

I've only been smoking a bit over a year and so I don't really think I have a favorite yet. I do find that my best smokers are all estates. I definitely think that has to do with me not adequately breaking in my pipes.

    What are You Reading Now?

Recently finished these two: And now I am sticking with Wendell Berry and nearing the end of this one:

***What Are You Smoking, August 2023?***

Been in G.L Pease mood lately. Yesterday I tried Haddo's Delight for the first time and sadly, wasn't a fan. It smelled exactly like grape Big League Chew gum from my childhood. Which was fun, but not enjoyable in the pipe. After that I had some Stratford which I really like. This morning I am...

***What Are You Smoking, August 2023?***

I almost never see an autograph that I like, but dang, that's a fun one. It really fits the theme of the tobacco too.

What Are You Drinking? August 2023

It is really good. I almost didn't try it as the OZ Tyler speed aged stuff was nasty. Now, three bottles later, I am really glad I did.

    Is 0% Oxidation Possible?

I did this on your recommendation elsewhere and it worked very well. However, a word of caution to those trying it, be careful not to get carried away and let the metal wire on the pipe cleaner dig into the mouthpiece and leave sawtooth like marks.

***What Are You Smoking, June 2023?***

I haven't smoked in 2 weeks due to a cold with a nasty sore throat. Finally feeling better and smoked one of my favorites Sixpence, in a Growley Rhodesian. Enjoying the sunset while the kids catch fireflies.

***What Are You Smoking, June 2023?***

A quick half bowl of Pease Virginia Cream this morning. I haven't had any luck with aromatics, but love Pease blends so I am giving this a shot. It is pretty nice so far. Obviously good aroma, the taste is mild but pleasant with no artificial-seeming-off-flavors. I can see smoking this more in...

    What are You Reading Now?

I love his stuff, though I haven't read Klara yet. The Remains of the Day is one of my all time favorite books.

***What Are You Smoking, May 2023?***

Sixpence in a Ser Jacopo churchwarden on a lovely morning after backyard camping with the kids.

***What Are You Smoking, May 2023?***

G.L. Pease Stratford in a J Mouton Canadian after a long day taking the family to a Revolutionary War reenactment. First time smoking Stratford and I am loving it. I was looking for a sweeter ribbon cut VaPer and this one really fits the bill.

***What Are You Smoking, May 2023?***

I had a predawn smoke of G.L Pease Sixpence this morning. I really enjoy waking up early to enjoy a pipe. This morning it was quiet and still, just the sound of crickets, and a gentle wind in the trees. The fireflies were putting on a show, though the stars were fairly dim. On a practical note...

    Cajun Dark, Periqued Dark Fired

Thanks for all the information. It is disappointing that no one currently seems to be using the leaf. I'll have to keep a look out for any of the old blends. It's unlikely, but maybe I'll stumble upon them.

    Cajun Dark, Periqued Dark Fired

I recently came across a reference to McClelland's Royal Cajun series and it's use of Cajun Dark - a dark fired that was fermented using the same technique as perique. It was made by La Poche. I tried searching the forums but found very little on it. I was wondering if it is still being made and...

What Are You Drinking? May 2023

Cracked open my last fantail bottle. This one is a brown sugar bomb.

    What are You Reading Now?

I definitely plan on reading all his fiction. I've read a few of his poems and really liked them. I haven't read his non-fiction yet. Seems like there is a lot of it, any suggestions where to start?

    What are You Reading Now?

I'm currently reading a collection of Port William's novels and stories by Wendell Berry. There is a lot wisdom in these stories. Also, with all the tobacco farming taking place, they are a great compliment to smoking a pipe.
