    Tea and a Pipe

I'm no doctor, but if that would be the case, Argentina, Uruguay and a good chunk of Brazil would be plagued. I can be wrong, of course, but a quick goggle search in Spanish says that drinking your mate too hot can cause esophageal issues including cancer. But it seems to be a temperature issue...

    Tea and a Pipe

I usually pair my night pipe with beer or wine, but when I choose to brew a tea, I like a Ginger and Rhubarb blend made by Teapigs. I also like their mint-liquorice with stouter blends (it has a very potent flavour that can overshadow milder blends). Anyway, my favourite drink while smoking is...

"Breaking In" A Briar Pipe? Fact or Fiction?

I don't do the gradual breking in thing. I did my two or three first years of pipesmoking, but I found out many people didn't, I tried to skip it and I've had no issues since. Back then, a theory circulated Spanish forums and I don't know if it's true. I'll leave it here just in case someone...

    Cigars And Pipes...The Journey

Exactly! That's why I favor toscani cigars too: you can smoke a segment, and continue afterwards, even days after. I don't know why but normal cigars get stale if you do that.

    Cigars And Pipes...The Journey

I started with cigars 20 years ago, but immediately went for the pipe because of the price factor. And that was a time when you could find great cubans for less than 3 euros! However, when I started, economic factors were quickly shadowed by variety. Lately I've been smoking more and more...

    Nic-Lite Royal Yacht?

To me, Haddo's Delight seemed even more powerful.

My First Few Months as a Pipe Smoker.

    Good luck and happy smokes!

    Jim's 50th Pipe Smoking Anniversary.

Congratulations, Jim! I always look for your tobacco reviews, but I can see you have great stories too!

Per George Jensen - The Viking Collection

Funny thing: when vikings came to Spain they reached my hometown through the river (some 30 kilometers upstream). There are still remains of a fortress (Rábida) the muslims built in Guardamar, probably to protect their cows.

    Ok. But be careful why?

Per George Jensen - The Viking Collection

I just ordered Three Swords, Longboat and Thor's Hammer. I'll update when I try them.

Per George Jensen - The Viking Collection

Yes! That's how I knew. I guess we all have the same questions. And we know we won't know until we actually try it. But I'd like to hear something about them before if possible.

Per George Jensen - The Viking Collection

I'm looking for information on these tobaccos but I can't seem to find any. They are brand new and (apparently) only sold here at the moment. There's also a pdf here that explains the story behind them. It seems that they contain katerini and rustica tobaccos processed as cavendish. I know it's...

    C&D Autumn Evening

It's the only aromatic I've somewhat liked in 20 years of pipesmoking. I probably won't be buying more, but at least I might finish the half tin I bought. As usual, the experience might depend on how you smoke it, the particular batch and other factors.

Brethren, I Humbly Ask a Favor

My deepest condolences. Tonight's bowl will be on her memory.

    Well Known Problem seeks Answer

Same here. That's why I only buy pipes I can test before. I always ask for a pipe cleaner (or bring my own) and try it. If a curved pipe takes some tries, that's ok by me. But not too many.

    Exposing Tobacco to Tobacco Smoke

I always fill my pipes and smoke them in different rooms, specially if I'm filling a second pipe and the smoke from the first is still lingering around. I fear that the smoke might affect the flavour of the tobacco in the jars I'm opening. But I see many people keep their tobacco jars in the...

    Oldest Smoked Tobacco...

Last year I smoked EMP from 2005. This year I have opened a tin of Capstan blue from 2006 and last saturday, with some friends, I opened a tin of Dunhill Mild Blend purchased in November 2005 that had at least two or three years more (you can see it here). I have a little stash from the years I...

Does pipe smoking and drinking go hand and hand

I'm from Spain, where superb wines can be really cheap. It's a curse that I don't realy like how it goes with tobacco, although I'm finding that burleys are acceptable. I rarely smoke latakia blends, but reading this has made me curious. I'll try with some Gaslight. Yesterday I had some italian...

World More Tobacco Day May 31

By the way, the cigars Clint Eastwood smokes in the dollars trilogy are Toscani. I discovered them trough those movies and are staple in my rotation. One more reason for a private tribute.
