Is There a Cure for TAD, or Am I Doomed?

That's just how folks have been conditioned as consumers. It can be unlearned.

    Forum Numbers

In all seriousness, I get what you mean about threads becoming saturated with posts before you can put in your $0.02. I often read through threads after responding to the OP and realize that my response was redundant.

Is Dan tobacco no longer imported?

I was not aware of that. Thanks for the info.

Time To Give Up The Hobby

One of the main draws of getting into pipes for me was the low cost and accessibility of the hobby. At the prices of tobacco in Australia, Canada, and some US states, I'd give it up and move onto something else. Just isn't worth it to me.

Good to know that they're focusing on going after the most heinous of criminals.

    Tobacco still good?

You may have a hard time finding that blend. Seattle Pipe Club blends were made by Sutliff, which is no more. Try smoking a bit and see if you like it. It may need a light hydration. It's recommended to keep tobacco in a mason jar to prevent it from drying out too much.

    Partial Bowl

I knew I couldn't be the only one who'd tried that. It's like using keystones or meer chips, but much cheaper and less gimmicky.

    Partial Bowl

I have a cheapskate technique that I've been employing for some time with success. I put a small amount of dirt cheap, dry, plain tobacco at the bottom of my bowls. It soaks up the moisture at the bottom very well and gets tossed out rather than wasting my more expensive blend, which all gets...

***What Are You Smoking, November 2025?***

Amphora Virginia in the little AKB meer billiard.

    Partial Bowl

I frequently set down a partially smoked pipe and return to it later. I'll give a bowl about 48 hours before I decide to dump it. Usually there's minimal change in flavor. I've gravitated towards small chambered pipes, preferring ones about 17-19mm wide by 25-30mm deep, because I just have no...

    Canted Bowls ?

Sounds like the airway is partially clogging or the pack is just too tight in general. I seriously doubt it has anything to do with the canted angle of the bowl.

Question About Sillem’s Mayor 1814 Flake – Is It Lightly Flavored or Pure Virginia?

I think there's a bit of confusion here. Casing is different from topping. Nearly all tobacco blends are cased (with sugar), but this is not done to add flavoring. Toppings are added flavoring. There are many non-aromatic blends with no toppings which are sugar cased. There seems to be no...

Vendor wants ID for a pipe wax order

I was under the impression that Cigars International/P&C do use a system like this. I've never had to send them my ID, anyway. I get that it's annoying to get IDed for pipe wax, though.

Vendor wants ID for a pipe wax order

There was a time when I might have agreed. These days, I try to be more... understanding. Translation: I just don't associate with stupid assholes.

Vendor wants ID for a pipe wax order

In the US at least, tobacco product vendors are legally obligated to verify legal age for everyone purchasing from them. Sometimes they can't verify you without you providing ID. It's like going in a liquor store. You have to be of legal age to make a purchase even if you just buy a set of...
