You Must See This & Marvel

Today I received, unsolicited, from a fellow forum member, a package. We'd been exchanging conversational emails for just over a week and he'd asked for my address so he could send me 'something'. Silly me, I gave it to him. Upon opening said package, I beheld a pipe very very similar to the...

Hemp Wick and Lighter Case Ordered.

As an alternative to matches and lighters I've ordered a big ball of beeswax coated hemp 'wick' and a Bic lighter case that has a place to wrap several feet of it and also a channel that guides the wick to the front of the lighter @ the flame.

    Nashville Pipe Show-September 25/26

I don't venture too far away usually but this show intrigues me. Is this show on anyone else's radar? Nashville

    Radio Show This Week?

I don't see episode #149. Anybody else know where this program has gotten off to? I guess I'll go watch re-runs of Captain Freckles on youtube.

    The Changing Palate

I haven't been enjoying much of anything tobacco wise the past two days. It isn't because my tongue is burnt. Sure, I packed a few bowls that didn't burn properly, but that can happen. This has begun to really bother me. I keep tasting the same nasty chemical undertone no matter what I put in no...

Tobacco Pipe Collectors - A Place For New Custom Pipes

I encountered this site this morning and thought I'd share it with the board. http://www.tobacco-pipe-collectors.mybigcommerce.com/new-pipes/ Here's one example that appealed to me. Is listed for $170.00 and nominal shipping.

My Ode to Pipe & Leaf

This is my 2000th post and my one year anniversary as a forum member. Thank you all! I composed a little poem in celebration. A gentle breeze, a moonlit night, a moment's calm, a pipe to light. The day's events, its joy and grief, find soothing balm from tasty leaf. Now, the time of...

    Youtube Pipe Presenters Bad Examples

Not all youtube pipe presenters start their vids off by lighting their pipe with a lighter of some sort. Typically, chuffing hard and blowing large clouds of smoke, yammering on about whatever it is that's on their mind a the time and repeatedly throughout, bringing that flaming lighter back to...

This Year I Had a Better Suggestion For My Birthday Gift

Most of the time I don't have a response to the question, "what do you want for your birthday?" It's usually, oh, I'm just happy with your presence, or I could use some new socks, or just not much of a help really for a gift giving offspring. Heck, I don't want my kids spending money on me...

    Burley Stepladder Sampler #2

This sampler is advertised on page 70 of P&C's June sales flier. It pictures Peterson's 3 P's, but it doesn't list it in the text. I wonder what you will actually receive?

    Clean Your Nose!

I used to think to do this more often. Mix a spoonful of table salt in a glass of warm water. Pour some in your hand and then inhale it through one nostril..yuh...you sort of retro hale it...and spit it out... Do it a few times in each nostril. Why...

Pipes, Tobaccos, & Internet in Retirement

I retired two years ago from hard labor. Health issues made it difficult to carry on with the daily grind and as soon as I became eligible for Medicare, I gave my notice. It took me another year to discover pipe smoking, and this last year has been a whole lot of fun because of this splendid...

    Pipe Storage

As I accumulate more and more pipes, I find I have more than I have rack space for, and taking a cue from one of the members, I used pipe cleaners to hang pipes off the lip of my pipe cleaner jar.

Briar Seems Less "Forgiving" Than Corn

Gurgle and heat are two of 'our' great detractors. After a year of pipe smoking, I find I still get my share of gurgle and tongue burn, but it most often happens when I'm smoking a briar pipe, NOT when I'm smoking a cob. I've had some wonderful smokes in briars, but much less consistently than...

The Proof Is In The Puffin

For some unknown reason, I was browsing old Ali fights and eventually found this panel discussion lead by Howard Cosell, and including Jack Dempsey, Rocky Marciano, and Sports analysts talking about the Lewiston ME fight. They take a commercial break. Here's the commercial. Prince Albert

P&C Page69 Tin Sampler: Your Selections?

I just gave my suggestions to a fellow member AFTER he'd already ordered and then asked about his selections. The June edition of Pipes and Cigars Monthly Sales Flier has a tin sampler on page 69. Pick one from each row. Expound if you think it's something you really want to do.

Bump & Props For The First Lady of Pipesmagazine.com

I've recently had the pleasure of reading about the first time experiences a relatively new pipe smoker (like myself) had at this year's Chicago Pipe Show. It is no secret that Kevin Godbee is The Man here, or that Lori Brown is his significant other. I've read that Kevin calls Lori the "First...

Bigger Threat to Tobacco Lovers - Taxes or Availability?

It seems to me when I think of the drought that has gripped the State of California and many other parts of our Nation, that we're looking down the barrel of an environmental shotgun, and that effects of Climate Change are rapidly changing the earth's agricultural 'footprint'. Add to that the...
