Stinger
I have a Kaywoodie meerschaum with a four hole stinger. I would never remove it. It can be a nuisance to clean and I don't know if it adds or subtracts from my smoking experience but that's how my godfather bought it and that's how it will stay. What is your pipe cleaning routine?
Pipe cleaner and paper towel after each smoke. I used to do the Everclear bit if I thought a pipe got funky but now hot water flush gets things back to all good.🤙- B.Fee

Cedar is used for humidors because bugs don't like them thus keeping your stogie's safe. They have to Absorb moisture to get to their desired humidity then stay at that optimum level to keep the tobacco primo. There is a reason balsa is used for filters, they work. Kabob Filters?
Any kabob stick I have used is bamboo. A very dense wood not close to to the porous nature of balsa. I'm sure anything could be used to restrict the draw to Simulate a filter but I don't believe it would do much for moisture control.- B.Fee
