    Insulating qualities of bowl material

    Air flow (design of the pipe), and the smoker's technique is more important than the insulation of the bowl material. You don't want something that will hold too much heat. Briar, meer, and cob do well.

    Corn cob are great for codger blends. They can last longer if you take care of it. Empty out and dry after smoke. That's about it.

    Quiet Nights Help...

    I love GLP blends. But Quiet Night doesn't really pop up as a memorable blend. He has so many Lat blends. I remember trying Quiet Night trying to figure out Dunhill NightCap. Neither of those really impressed me. Two blends from GLP that I really enjoy were Haddo's Delight and Cairo.

    Why are estate pipes ok?

    Nothing that will kill you will grow on it. After a good clean, it's pretty safe to smoke. I just like new Peterson. But if a good deal can be found, I'll jump on it. Most of what I'm looking for are far beyond my reach.

If that didn't cure my curiosity, I would go to a library. I would have some idea about a topic before bugging...

    Seven Samurai is definitely a good one. Yojimbo, and Sanjuro is also very nice. Hidden Fortress, and Red Beard.. Golden age of Samurai movies Kurosawa and Mifune was one heck of a combo.
