    Next Purchase, a Savinelli Unica?

@PaulRVA is to blame for an incoming estate sav autograph. He forced me to buy it ;) Any savs I owned preformed above their weight. I wouldnt pay the new price for the autograph models but I will pay the cost of a new mid line Pete. The new autograph models are often 4-5. Id I were inclined...

***What Are You Smoking, May 2025?***

Just a small bowl of Reniers golden flake in Kai. I need to keep my eyes out for more small bowl pipes like this one.

    Ash

I usually dont but I also typically smoke pipes with smaller bowls.

Estate Pipe With Tight Fitting Stem

Sometimes sanding is the only answer but its wise not to jump into it before exploring less invasive means. Derlin used for 9mm pipes doesnt have a memory. If the pipe is clean and its too tight graphite helps but sometimes its just too tight and begging for trouble. The good thing is if a 9mm...

***What Are You Smoking, May 2025?***

Im still working on my morning blend. Ive found that adding just a pinch of Janneman Flake (about 15 percent or so) to Makhuwa rounds out some of the rough edges without significantly changing the flavor and character of the blend. If you have both give it a try. Smoking it in a Kai

    Possibly My First Dunhill Pipe

It really boils down to what floats your boat. Personally Dunnys dont do it for me, but if it does it for you then Id keep it. Money comes and money goes. I wouldnt keep it just becuase its a Dunhill. Id have to love it. Personally, if I didnt know it was a Dunhill Id give it a glance, think...

***What Are You Smoking, May 2025?***

Directors Cut with a bit of Janneman flake thrown in just becuase I can. Smoking in an Amorelli. The red va in Janneman adds an extra note to the blend. If you have both try it. Im guessing 75 percent DC and 25 Janneman.

Does Anyone Has Expirience With The Vauen And Barling Firelighters?

I stick with Corona or Duponts. If they dont brag about having a metal gas chamber its probably plastic and prone to eventual failure. Duponts and Corona lighters are both built to last and you can get parts for them. If I were buying a lighter with a plastic chamber Id just opt for an ali...

    Best Amaretto Aromatic Pipe Tobacco?

Take a litte amaretto, put it in a shot glass, set in in the middle of a tupperware container. Surround it with a layer of some neutral blend VA/cavindish. Let it sit for a week or so. Remove and smoke. It may need a little dry time.

    Chasing Grain

@OzPiper Is that olive pipe a contrast stain...its way more intersting that most olive wood pipes Ive seen. Im guessing the contrast application makes it look spalted.

    Chasing Grain

2 kai pipes and a birdseye. The birdseye Ser jacopo was an estate pipe I refinished and contrast stained.

    Summer Is Here!

I like gelfite fish too but it is high on the list of the most hideous looking foods in existence! Our weather in Southern France should be perfect utill about mid July to the end of August. Its still nice but it can get pretty hot.... luckily we are at the foot of the mountains so it tends...

    Removing Cake gone wrong

That works perfect. BTW, if you happen to have a pellet stove the ash from those makes some serious mud. Its crazy complete combustion and makes a really hard mud. I once got a couple of estate cheapo pipes that someone had gone too deep with. Like Sig says, it will again be perfect. You...
