Buying and Blending Tobacco from LeafOnly

Yes, if you are that way inclined it is a lot of fun and very satisfying. It is also educational from a taste perception angle. Taking a whole leaf and processing a bowl of tobacco from just the one (or a few) leaf gives a very distinct idea about what a particular variety is bringing to a...

    Happy Gilmore 2

I would think it was unnecessary viewing...but then I spotted Ben Stiller's character in the trailer and I thought maybe it would be fun to see him again...

    High Nicotine Pipe Tobacco Recommendations

Track yourself down some cotton boll twist, that is the strongest I ever tried.

    Why are estate pipes ok?

Why are estate pipes ok? For you they are not. Why are elevators ok? For me they are not. I think it is deeper than opinion, but it is certainly personal.

First Men on the Moon - 55-Years-Ago Today

That guy seems horrible, in that situation I would refuse to do whatever he was demanding. I don't particularly need that first moon landing to be real or fake, but I certainly would not let that clip influence the decision!

Current Pipe Mixing - Tips and Tricks from the Veterans

A day or two in the press for a crumble cake of ribbon, or about a week for a plug of whole leaf is roughly what I have done. I would crank the press a little more each day. I don't think you can do it 'wrong' but keep experimenting and you will decide what works for you. I did leave one too...

Buying a Whole Cellar From a Neighbor?

Fair enough, hopefully he sends you a tin to say thanks for the advice! This is generally a friendly place, but a little wary of things that appear to good to be true...sorry if that meant you got face mud.

Buying a Whole Cellar From a Neighbor?

One time I found a listing for maybe $5000 worth of pipe tobacco, it was a selection of all the 'good stuff' and I think it was going for $500. I called the number and the poor lady explained that she kept getting calls and she had no idea what it was all about, English was her second language...

Buying a Whole Cellar From a Neighbor?

If you don't want to buy it, and you want to do the neighbour a favour, tell them to send it all to pipestud ...I agree with Duane though, something seems off about this...

    Stimulation or Relaxation?

The way I understand it... Consumption in the form of a slow burning pipe is more likely to be a relaxant, but nicotine absorbed in faster ways (cigarette, chew, snuff etc) can be a stimulant. Or your pipe can be a stimulant too, if you are smoking nicotine heavy blends, or back to back...

    Smoking Pipe around Children...

I just don't smoke in the house or the family car...or my work truck if I have the kids as passengers. Otherwise I do smoke around them, on walks or doing yard work etc. Looking back, I think when I had little babies I had the same general rules but I just smoked a little less anyway because I...

    Fig Jam

In New Zealand we call this the paw paw, I have a couple of trees and they were prolific this last year! I love them but not everyone gets into it, acquired taste.

    Fig Jam

Looks good! My little fig tree is just a couple of years old, but my nana used to make a delicious fig and ginger jam from her crop.

    Your First Experience With Tobacco

I tried cigarettes a few times when I was 12, in a similar fashion to the stories above...but I ignored tobacco for years after that, until the pipe in my mid 20s...never looked back!

    Yeah, I know, I'm weird.

The word grog came via Admiral Vernon of the British navy. He wore a thick coat at sea made of grogram (originally gros graine in French) and his men nicknamed him Old Grog. In 1740, Vernon ordered the daily rum ration for British Sailors to be watered down, and the new mixture became known as...

    GL Pease VLO Balkan Rankings

Westminster is a favourite for me. I enjoyed maltese falcon, and gaslight was ok...but westminster I really, really like. Odyssey was too much latakia for me.

    Beard Dye

Yeah, what they said. AND more importantly, what if the dye messes with your naturally smoked moustache note?
