    Opening A Tin? Show Us!

Opening my first tin of Peter Heinrich’s Golden Sliced. This has been on my Virginia buy/must try list for quite a while and I finally got around to ordering a tin. I do not recall getting a tobacco in a paint style tin before. I took the handle of a spoon and went around the circumference of...

    TAD Acquisitions 2025

Same. At the time of purchase it was only showing quantity of 1 - and at various times before that was showing out of stock.

    TAD Acquisitions 2025

Yeah you may be right. 😂 But I’ve been focused on waiting for this 1lb of Sutliff 515 to arrive from a website I’ve never ordered from - but another pipe forum has seemed to have positive orders from. Got an order processed on Monday with no tracking info so we shall see!

    Why are some pipes “expensive”?

Solid advice. I’ve been to the NASPC pipe show once, 6 years ago when I first started smoking a pipe - there were so many vendors. I didn’t know what I didn’t know at the time and didn’t know what to ask. I do plan on going to that one again this next year, it actually falls on a day off for me!

    Why are some pipes “expensive”?

Can you tell me where in my post did it smack of envy and jealousy - Or did you bother to read it? Besides - without asking questions and having discussions, how can one learn more about it? “I’m mainly trying to learn, especially for the day I finally decide to treat myself to a higher-end...

    Why are some pipes “expensive”?

Good discussions….I’m starting to understand a little better now.

    Why are some pipes “expensive”?

Actually - this kind of struck me in a way to think about the “expensive” pipes, or at least what I viewed as such. Supply and demand. Thats it. I get the whole bourbon craze, as stuff I’ve enjoyed since the early 2000s was readily available before the Pappy craze hit. Then you have more...

Time To Give Up The Hobby

I had to due a currency converter to USD to grasp how insane that is. My mind is blown. I’ve picked up on posts in the past that the price is outrageous there. And I fear it’s coming our way as well at some point

    Why are some pipes “expensive”?

I get that, but I don’t think it’s that simple. Just a quick comparison and seeing a $3,500 Castello vs another artisan maker around $500 with roughly the same amount of briar used in crafting the pipe with a nice smooth finish and grain. Are you implying that the sourcing to get the raw briar...

    Why are some pipes “expensive”?

I know “expensive” depends on the buyer, but I’m still trying to understand why certain pipes carry such a big price tag compared to others. My collection is small—maybe 25 pipes total. Mostly Savinelli and Peterson, a Butz-Choquin, a couple of meers, some cobs, a turn-of-the-century pipe that...

    Tobacco still good?

What others said. Fire up a bowl or two - if and you still enjoy it, it’s a-okay! If need to rehydrate, try the distilled water method.

Time To Give Up The Hobby

I would think outside the box if only a hour or two away from the nearest US State and bring back the exempted amount. Probably not feasible. But yeah we want to know - how much tobacco was that fee assessed on?

Why Is HU Directors Cut More Expensive Than Other HU Tobacco Blends?

I was actually wondering this the other day when I was comparing the prices on smoking pipes. I haven’t had any Hu blends in years when ordering from Germany was easy peasy.

    TAD Acquisitions 2025

Supported the local (45 minutes away)b&m and picked these up - new to me. After veteran discount $61.85 🫡 Took a browse at the pipes - all out of my price range. Was eyeing the Savinelli Saint Nicholas 320 - but I’ll probably purchase elsewhere.
