Which Peterson Sherlock Holmes is Rarer.
What might be rarer still are those green Sherlock Holmes meers, from 10-15 years ago? Remember seeing them for sale here in England, but never seen one since. I didn’t like the look of them myself. -
How Can I Repair Chips on a Peterson Ebony?
You’ll get better advice from others but if it was my pipe, I’d strip it back to bare wood & repaint it. Either that or leave it as it is.- simong

Nice! 👍 I'm lucky enough to have one of my great grand fathers old pipes, which still smokes great. Your pipe doesn't necessarily need a new stem. If a pipe lies unused for a period of time, materials shrink & stems become loose. You can rectify this by smoking the pipe yourself, heat through...- simong

You can try a ‘quicker fix’ if you want. Load your pipe & cover the top of the bowl with your mouth, breathe in with your nose & slowly exhale through your mouth, covering the stem hole with your finger,do that for a couple of minutes.That will dampen the tobacco & slow the burn down.- simong

Skiff Mixture from Gawith’s is the weakest in the nicotine department, that I’ve tried. Having said that though, if a pipe is causing you panic attacks, then a pipe is not for you. Try snuff instead. Seville by Fribourg & Treyer is a mild & excellent snuff to start off with.- simong
