    Getting into Cigars

I bought a Plasencia Blind Buy from BL Luxuries last spring and got a good variety. I enjoyed all of the Almas, especially the Alma del Campo and the Alma Fuerte Colorado Claro. On the other hand, the 149 Cosecha was too bitter for my taste, and the Reserva Original only tasted like filler...

    Getting into Cigars

In my (limited) experience, I've found that Plasencias fall into this category too: it's one of the few where I can pick one up at the local B&M on a whim and smoke it right away. On the other hand, anything that comes in the mail will go into the tupperdor for at least 2-4 weeks or longer.

    Getting into Cigars

You can't go wrong with Padron. Every one I've smoked has been great. Too bad about Blue Eyed Jack's Revenge, though: I got one through Smoke Inn's COTM, and have been looking forward to trying it. Guess I'd better bring along a backup cigar when I do!

What Cigar Are You Smoking? 2025

Between storms, air quality alert days, and general busyness, I haven’t had a cigar in several weeks, so I’m observing Fuente Friday early with a Hemingway Best Seller. It’s Friday somewhere.

***What Are You Smoking, July 2025?***

Heh, it WAS actually an import from London. The harness and leash together were 54.99 GBP, more than my snuff order cost! So someone must really love their XS-size dog!

***What Are You Smoking, July 2025?***

Peretti Ampersand in the Falcon snifter bowl This is good stuff: I’ll have to order some more when I replenish my Tashkent. I was actually looking forward to trying some snuff today, after waiting 2 weeks for my order to clear customs. But when I opened the package, it contained a dog...

    Smoking and Snoring

I never did either, but I used to have frequent dreams about tornadoes. My wife woke me up during one of them and told me to stop snoring, and then I put two and two together. SnoreStop puts out a line of snoring remedies, such as homeopathic tablets you take before sleep, and Extinguisher, a...

The snifter is one of my favorite bowls, both for appearance as well as capacity: I can get 90 minutes or more with a flake. I like it so much that I bought another one as a backup! And speaking of gorgeous, there’s that meer of yours!

***What Are You Smoking, June 2025?***

Tashkent in the Falcon snifter And some Killian’s Red to go with it. Usually I don’t mix pipes and alcohol, but the Killian’s is pretty nice this evening. Our pastor has been on vacation, so I’ve been filling in at our 2 congregations (about 50 miles apart) for the past two Sundays. It makes...
