New Gawith Releases (in US) Confusion
If it says vintage cut, then it is a thicker cut of the same. The twists are the same but different thickness - bogie/X/XXX. If it says a sliced twist, then it's the twist sliced. If its called a plug, it's a plug, if it says a cut plug, then its a plug sliced - e/g basically a flake. It is says...- gawithhoggarth

The American Blends are NOT blending tobaccos - its just what the range is called - American Blend and then the flavour. We only do two specific blending tobaccos - a black cavendish and a latakia and they are only in bulk. But I guess you can take any tobacco and mix it with something else to...- gawithhoggarth

Square Tin Seal: Recent Experience
There is only Gawith Hoggarth tobacco made in the UK full stop. We are the only tobacco manufacturer here. Germains are in Jersey so not technically part of the UK. Anything else you buy in the UK outside these two manufacturers is imported. A vast majority of it will be made by STG.- gawithhoggarth

Actually not the case - we produce many ribbon cuts and shag tobaccos and RYO. In fact in the UK and other markets these make up a far greater percentage of our sales than flakes, plugs and twists. Again the world is much bigger than just the USA!- gawithhoggarth

Unfortunately our current government does seem keen to follow the NZ example (before it was repealled I believe on age limit going up each year to buy) . Differentiation made mostly for tax. Not in the UK and places in Europe. Cigarettes and hand rolling tobacco is taxed far more highly than pipe tobacco and the UK government sets what the cut is for RYO versus pipe. Snuff has no duty on it currently.- gawithhoggarth
