Smoked Fish And Now A Pipe

Smoke fish at cooler temps than beef/pork/chicken. Around 160 F works great for salmon. You can get fancy with brines or dry rubs if you want to but a simple dark brown sugar and kosher salt mix in a 4:1 or 5:1 ratio is delicious. Cover fish fillets with sugar/salt mix. Refrigerate overnight...

    Loved, Lost, then Miraciously Found?

I'm still kicking myself for being too slow on the trigger for this Ardor Acorn. If anybody ever sees it or anything like it please let me know.

    The Elusive $5 Cigar

I'm all about the Illusione Rothchilde. It's $5 plus a bit of change at most places but can be very close to the $5 mark, especially if you buy a 5 pack or more. Fantastic cigar in my opinion. I like both the connecticut and the maduro versions.

Lakelands: Let's Build A Sauce Scale

I might have to revise this assessment. Ennerdale has been a real lakeland powerhouse for me in the past, but the stack of tins I bought from the early April drop fell way short of my previous experience and expectations. Batch variation is a real thing with this stuff. The last bag of #7...
