    Samuel Gawith Full Virginia Flake

I've had some nirvana smokes from the Gawith stable.... it's sometimes hard to get it perfect, but when it is, it is!

Announcing Tobacco That Becomes In Stock?

I got sick of looking for hard to get blends... so I formed relationships with some vendors I liked dealing with, gave them my business, and it wasn't long before they were contacting me by phone and email to let me know they had stuff in, and put aside for me. Never ever had to chase a single...

St James Flake - First Impression

SJF is my favourite and most stocked up VaPer. There's nothing quite like it!

I wonder if this is exclusively for Smokingpipes.com?

Absolute Best Knife For Cutting Plugs

A short blade sashimi knife is the way to go for me. They have a single bevel, in either left or right hand. A western beveled knife usually has 2 levels meeting in the middle of the blade, where the Japanese blades slice very evenly down the length of the cut because of the single bevel...

    Pipe Cleaner Miser...

I cut the dirty ends off with electronics wire cutting snips. I get at keast twice the mileage out of them this way, without having to run a dirty cleaner back through a pipe.

    Stonehaven: Plume Or Mold?

I'd smoke that in a heartbeat... no questions asked. I'd even reach for that ahead of Stonehaven that does not have that 'feature.

Big Problem for the Chicago Pipe Show

As an International visitor, travelling to the US solely to attend the show...I've already reserved accommodation for Pheasants Run, and pre paid to attend the Pipe making course pre show.... this has me concerned. Hopefully clarity on the matter is achieved soon so I can lock in flights etc....

Tinned Nightcap, Bulk Nightcap, and Quiet Nights

Learn something newevery day. I always thought QN was Pease's homage to Penzance.

Left Sidebar Now on Mobile & Retailers Coming Next

I'm not sure if it's a setting in my browsers, but the sidebar on the left causes what I'm viewing on screen to jump up and down, as I'm scrolling up and down the page to view next, and previous posts. I'm not really sure how else to describe it. I'm using latest android iOS on both phone and...

    1820

I agree, it was a poorly conceived idea that somehow got implemented. Early reports are it is very close to Penzance, but not identical.

    1820

1820, and 1820 FLAKE are 2 totally different blends.

How The Vacuum Is Created In Tins Of Tobacco.

I would bet my bottom dollar that they use a Chamber Vacuum style machine. Quite different from a vacuum machine that sucks air out.... the chamber vacuum machine works on the principle of differing pressures of inside and outside the container / bag.

    Aged Tins and Planes

Depends on the type of tin. If you have a round, screw top style tin.... tighten firmly by hand, and put it in your check in luggage.... it will vacuum seal itself. (Provided you left the rubber gasket clean and free of debris)

    GLP Westminster

Thank you Georged! How do you feel about it now, 13 years down the road, in 2019? Has it changed? Better, worse or the same?

Burley For The Evening Only Smoker

Great post, Neal. Exactly my experiences... I still smoke and quite enjoy everything... but on my desert island, I'm stocked up with Solani Silver Flake and ABF!

    Chicago Pipe Show 2019

Cheers, Craig. I very much enjoyed meeting you too, mate. Really enjoyed your company and having a chat! You picked up a beauty of a pipe early - what a great way to start the 2019 show! I'll try start 2020 in the same fashion, now that I've learnt the ropes!
