    Overrated Tobaccos

Okay, I'll say it: I don't like 965. I've tried 3 different tins at different points in my smoking history, and can't get into it. Burns great and is really smoky, but I can't EVER get any ofthe supposed sweetness to come through like I can with Nightcap or other Englishes. Highly overrated.

    Dunhill Nightcap Pipe Tobacco Review

Great review, Kevin. Nightcap is the best of all the Dunhill blends. The only one that I could really get into, and the only one worth the hype, IMHO.

    JackKnife Plug

I'm working on a trade for two tins right now. Can't wait to try this stuff!

    Best Experience in a B&M

My first good one was at Just For Him in Springfield, MO. Awesome and knowledgeable staff. The owner taught me to pack a pipe properly after I'd been unsuccessfully fooling with one for a few years. Half of their shop (probably 800 Sq feet?) is a lounge where ALL types come to enjoy a bowl or...

Nebraska Poll on Tobacco Taxes Called ‘Phony’ by Tobacconists Association

Sad. The problem around here is that your average non-smoking person refuses to see the issue as Big Government. You've got a lot of people that would otherwise be alarmed, but lump all tobacco together and think, "Well, at least my kids won't smoke cigarettes."

    Bob's Chocolate Flake

Ooooh, someone brought Bob's Chocolate Flake to the Pipe Club one time. Great stuff. I've got to sip it, or it bites. But really tasty.

    Pipe Reamers?

I just got the Castleford Reamer Set off the eBay and it works GREAT!. It's the one with four progressively larger sizes and a nice thick handle for torque. Can't recommend it enough.

    Jobey Shellmoor Pipes

Has anyone around here smoked these before? I've had one for a while that looks as old as the hills, but haven't got around to smoking it.

    Savinelli Extra from Antique Shop

Those are GREAT pipes. Looks like you picked up a nice one. Get the stem buffed and clean it up and you should have a really good smoker. Nothing like 30 years on a pipe to season the briar and help it smoke good.

How often do you smoke a pipe?

Here in the winter I'm probably averaging 1 every other day, although a morning bowl on my way to work is becoming the norm.

Viking Pipe Club of Saint Louis

Our regular meeting place, Riley's, actually got an exemption and is still very much smoke friendly!!

    Aromatics vs non-aro\'s

I almost think we need a re-definition of terms. A tobacco that tastes as good as it smells and obviously has had something added to it should be called "aromatic". A tobacco that has had something added but tastes different, or the scent burns off, or your mouth tastes like you just smoked a...

Do you smoke on the road?

Cortezattic, I whole-heartedly (and with much love) wish the same to you! I just got a 99 Corolla, exclusively for it's commuting excellence (and it was given to me:)). In the process now of turning it into a pipe-smoking machine. What blends/types have you found that leave a more pleasant...
