Improving Mortise Gurgle
Try to put a tube stinger like dunhill into the tenon till the chamber bore or better enlarge the mortize hole to fit a new stem with tenon filter for 6mm or 9mm filters. At that point guess only a filter like the balsa by Savinelly could help you- pentangle

Improving Mortise Gurgle
If the shank hole isn't precisely done don't meet in the same line the tenon hole, and if between tenon and the end of the mortize the's a chamber due to an incorrect mortize drill (to deep) the's a chamber and the smoke condenses.In a bent kit that could happen more frequently than in a straight- pentangle

Where would you buy a pre-bore kit?

Small Pipes
Small pipes are now difficult to find in the market as new product.Much better to look at estate pipes.Why that happen? Because the best market for pipemakers is the amercan one and american smokers usually ask for big pipes.So probably only few english brand and some other like Savinelli make... -

I see on sale so many poor or so so pre drilled briar blocks that if i whould get money i could sell pre drilled ebauchons made by me from the best italian briar really flamed or with bird eyes.Buy a not pre drilled plateau block for the same price of a bad pre drilled one and drill it... -

That peterson has not so short shank and it has a flock insert and that make some differences.To have condences pipe must have only few millimeters from bowl bore and the end of the bore for the tenon, as smoke needs to change temperature lightly and as slow as possible -
