    Your Opinions on Morta

Well, I scratched the itch! H/T to @PipeIT. I checked out Davorin's website and snagged this Zulu. It just came in today, and his work is just impeccable. Came with a leather pouch, too.

Who is the Greatest Living Artisan Pipe Maker?

Damn! Everything on his website is super cool. Of course his signature is cool.

    Bad Taste In The Morning

If I smoke a pipe in the evening, which is my favorite time to smoke when I get the chance, I do have that pipe aftertaste in my mouth until my morning coffee. If I smoke a cigar, I taste that damn thing for 3 days. Gets old quick.

    Bent or Straight Stem?

As long as my pipe has a stem, I can make do.

    Experiences with eBay.

I don't understand what happened. Did you do that through the platform or around the platform (like PM's or email)? I can submit an offer, we can chat, and even if the seller agrees through PM's, it's void if someone submits him a better offer in the meantime. I'm sorry one got away, but...

Ugh…Breaking In a Few New Pipes

My process is to load tobacco to the top of a new pipe and light it on fire. I haven't done the 3-level system or used honey or sour cream or grape jelly. I know some of y'all like it, but it seems bizarre to me. I like the new pipe phase. It's somewhat of a bonding experience. I (almost) never...

    Experiences with eBay.

He's an awesome guy. I bought my unsmoked Denmark-era Stanwell from him. He had an unsmoked 1892 BBB Long Cutty with an amber stem that I bid to the moon but the damn auction ended on Mars. I wrote him afterward and congratulated him on it. I'd say to OP that there are no friends at an auction.

    Do I Need a Churchwarden?

No, you do not need one. But yes you do. I have a big collection of pipes, and I only have one churchwarden. I don't smoke it very often, but I really like it when I do. It's a different experience than any other pipe in my drawer. It's a wonderful pipe for when you're able to fully relax, rest...

    How Many In Your Rotation...

I don't smoke a lot of one particular blend. I like variety. In general, I will only have 2 ounces of any particular blend open at a time. I have about 40 jars in my cellar that I will dip into. I have a lot more blends in the backlog waiting for their turn in the jar. I like that number. It's...

***What Are You Smoking, September, 2023?***

Father Dempsey in my Castello Sea Rock. Finished this bowl and wanted another, but the time on the clock said otherwise. Such and excellent blend!

***What Are You Smoking, September, 2023?***

Trying again in the September thread... 1Q in my Sav 315. My first experience with 1Q was 20 years ago, and it's still a very satisfying smoke.

    Your Opinions on Morta

Yeah, that was one of the articles that was pushing Morta pipes into my shopping cart. My question is about your experience with Morta pipes in your rotation. Do you have one? Do you like it? Did it crack? Would you buy another one?

Who is the Greatest Living Artisan Pipe Maker?

At the risk of kinda answering OP's question, I find it hard to enjoy super outlandish pipes. I'd own one, but I probably wouldn't smoke it. I like artists that make pipes that look like pipes, but are just done exceptionally well. So for artisans, I gravitate to Ser Jacopo, Castello, etc...

Who is the Greatest Living Artisan Pipe Maker?

If one of y'all say Willie Nelson or Keith Richards, I'm going to have to turn off the internet and go sit in a corner for a while.
