    Syrian or Cyprian Latakia?

I hear that the Syrian is less in use in the past few years, especially since GL Pease stopped using it (or at least massively reduced for some reason). I remember liking the Syrian a lot (though both are certainly my cup of tea) but I guess havent had it in few years now....

    Pipes Huber/ Munich

just wanted to share an excellent service experience at Pipes Huber in Munich. The lady at the counter was very knowledgeable and we even ended up chatting on many other things. Got there a Brebbia Junior also sepcially stamped for the store for a good price and got a refill for my Dunhill's...

    New Peterson.

Wolfe, I took the opposite route - had a Aran for years, which is definitely not among my favourites (too heavy to clench) and just last year got a system 303 and been enjoying it tremendeously (love the system and love the p-lip)

How Old When You Smoked Your First Pipe?

I was 26, was living and working in Canada, and the tranquility prompt me to start inquiring about pipe smoking, which I always wanted to. Think my first pipe was a Peterson Aran that I got online from the US. Obviously I tried Brigham tobaccos, that are quite widespread in Canada, but as I got...

    Squardon Leader!

Thanks nemrod :) I actually rarely order tobacco from Germany, I do like SG tobaccos and they're wide available in Israel, but the once I did, it was from a guy in Recklinghausen (which is different than the web one). I travel often to Germany for work, this is where I enjoy stocking on my...

    Greece pipe advice

Hey B, Where was the store exactly, in the "new" city, by the shopping area or inside the walled part of town? Having been there 3 times, I am trying to to figure out how I missed it :(

    Squardon Leader!

Great stuff IMHO. Does sell in many places in Europe, though I must say I havent encountered Samuel Gawith in many stores in Germany.

    Good Influence or BAD INFLUENCE

As I am pretty content with the amount of tobacco I have (and exposed to , on this side of the globe) I am more leaning towards having more pipes, so yes, this does not end :) I bought in January an artisan's free hand for quite some money and weheras I said I am not buying more pipes this year...

PAD hit me again, and again, and again!!

I was made aware of Shalom pipes only last week, and I was trying to google information about it in Hebrew, but nothing came up. No mentioning of ever manufaturing pipes in Israel. However, on an English wesite, it was mentioned that only the wood was imported from Israel. ...and speaking of...

    Penzance in stock

My first "encounter" with Penzance was thanks to Phil, who kindly arranged a nice "set" of tastings and had it shipped to me to Canada :) Haven't had it since and I actually remember liking it, but it is not available in Europe and it is harder to import tobaccos from the US than Europe (at...

    Best Smoke/This man's best smoke is.....What's yours?

Definitely in the morning (rare treat though) and in my Jirsa or Brebbia. Latakia goes without sayin' :)

    My first Peterson

Enjoy it! Peterson (Aran) was among my first ones. For me this specific one is slightly heavier to clench on, so it is less in my smoking rotation but I got a sytem (and P-Lip) Peterson last year in London and it is definitely among my favourites (though the P-Lip is kinda contraversial).

    Pipe Show Locations

I know its not completely related, but it seems like there are 4-5 pipe events in Germany every year and the pictures always seem so great, I should make a point to make a business trip around one of those shows, as it is much closer anyway and does not require a visa to enter :)

    Favorite time to smoke?

I just recently found out the joy of early morning pipe, used to be (still am)a dusk/evening smoker, but that morning one, wow! The tobacco almost felt different (in a better way). Unfortunately this is not something I can get used to do every morning :(

    Size does matter.

Right side clencher here too! I do have 3 "mini's" (Big Ben Ranger, Chacom, Lloyd's) and the others are definitely medium sized pipes. I own one huge Ben Wade, it is so heavy, I only smoked it twice in 6 years I have had it, but that is definitely a full hour somke. Realizing also that with the...
