    Bizarre skin reaction

Thank you my friend. It could've been environmental, could've been one time, coincidental, who knows. I will know when I smoke that HD again. I got worried because I just picked up this hobby and was going to be let down if I had to give it up already...

    Balkans... Rubber Tire?

Thanks for the confirmation. Now my nose can guarantee Virginia, and Latakia…

    Current State of Deeming Regulations?

As a homebrewer and fermentation enthusiast, the moment distillation becomes legal in Florida I know the still I’ll be buying… until then… I much prefer tequila unfortunately but the hobby itself I predict will be rewarding. Maybe I should buy it now and just store it as a “display”.

    Balkans... Rubber Tire?

As I was scouting instagram for info on the smell of Morley’s Best one person replied to me “creosote” which I assume would smell similar.

    Current State of Deeming Regulations?

I do things for the enjoyment of the thing itself. To me there is no reason to grow the tobacco, the very growing of it is the reward. The act itself is the purpose and end goal. There’s nothing like seeing the seeds germinate… pesky seed especially. Seeing the plant grow up. Etc. If I can feed...

    Bizarre skin reaction

Maybe… I’ve used the same laundry soap for years now without issue. Never had a rash like that. About 3 inches, stingingly painful, then disappeared within a few hours. I’m the only one in the family that uses it that soap though. Perhaps the soap everyone else uses got mixed in with mine, or...

    Balkans... Rubber Tire?

I find the UK flag unsurprising in this case... I am a huge soccer fan, sometimes I feel like I should've been born in the UK. Wonder how shunned pipe culture is there compared to America?

    Balkans... Rubber Tire?

That is interesting... Perhaps I've done too much research on cigar production. You are telling me that a lot of the blends we smoke are mostly just cured leaves save for perique? That is something I won't try for a while... mixing my own blends. Although I'm sure there is good information on...

    Balkans... Rubber Tire?

Well I have been an espresso enthusiast for about 3 years now. 99% of the time I drink straight espresso and no espresso I've gotten from "third wave shops" near me has ever touched mine, only recently I got a steamer for lattes and I don't drink dairy, so I'm still experimenting with oat milk...

    Current State of Deeming Regulations?

Sorry if I overstated it. I have the "smoking tobacco" varietal growing very well for the first time, since summer is here I have just sown a number of weeks ago and still am depending on what it is/transplating starters. I am germinating a number of others now because it's growing so well. It...

    Balkans... Rubber Tire?

This gives me comfort. I'm sure nobody on this forum has ever heard of a manufacturing issue or chemical issue with tobaccos, but being brand new, no pipe shop around for reference, I just had to make sure even if I felt it was likely fine.

    Hi from Florida

Besides getting used to the smell of smoking rubber/tire/campfire/leather, I enjoyed Epiphany quite a bit, it is extremely smooth. Compared to Va/Per blends I find these new blends to have nonexistent tongue bite no matter how hard I try (within reason). Morley's Best I felt was similar...

    Balkans... Rubber Tire?

I'm still trying to confirm my smells as a novice. I can't tell what exactly I'm smelling even after I do some research. My nose does not seem to match the few tin note descriptors I find online. I started off with Lane 1-Q, moved quickly onto Escudo and much prefer it, haven't touched 1-Q...

    Early Tobacco Use in America

I can let you know in a few years. I have a number of heirloom varietal seeds, wild and Native to North America. Some of the stuff is supposedly quite strong I suspect it's best restricted to ceremonial use, but I'll be stuffing my pipe for sure. So far "smoking tobacco" which is meant for a...

Remember the Smoking Car on Trains?

I don't think I've ever ridden a train that wasn't at an amusement park. I would ride a train everywhere if I could. I prefer walking, and being on a train from what I can tell.

Rusticated Piper New to the Forum

    Hello my friend.

    Hi from Florida

Latakia Dave is from Virginia. Now I've heard it!

    Hi from Florida

Hello, New here after already posting about a skin mishap during a smoke session, terrible coincidence or reaction? I guess I'll find out after I smoke it again at my own expense... I got into this hobby after I started growing tobacco for what amounts to no reason whatsoever. Not even sure...

    Current State of Deeming Regulations?

I am 27 years old and got into this hobby from purchasing heirloom tobacco seeds to grow with the random inspiration to try and cure/ferment it. Followed by watching Muttonchop... It's hard to tell whether it's growing because I've never seen a single person in my generation, in person,or online...
