Rattray’s Wallace Flake - Who Digs It?

I just smoked a bowl out of a tin dated January 2016 and found it to be quite tasty. The fruit note was present but stayed mostly in the background.

    Your Favourite Tin Art?

I always liked the mood found in this label from G.L. Pease.

    Bo Nordh Stem Replacement

    Amazing work!

Pipes So Nice You Bought Them Twice

I have 7 Castello shape 55 pipes. Amazing smokers with what seems to me to be the perfect bend.

    Tom Eltang pencil shank

I have one of these and have found it sings with GH Dark Bird's Eye. The bit on these is really comfortable for me and they weigh almost nothing. Fun little pipe for a short smoke.

    Castello Stem

I have heard you can send the bowl to Castello and they can make a new stem. Probably not cheap but likely the best way to approach this.

Castello Shape 55 Sea Rock KKK

The Castello 55 is a classic shape. It does seem to be somewhat polarizing with some people loving them and others not impressed with the chin. I own seven of them and they are all fantastic smoking machines. I guess that shows which way I lean in this debate. I bet you will love your new...

    Everyday no brainer smoke

For me it has been ODF Ready Rubbed or Newminster No.403 Superior Round Slices. Both provide a satisfying smoke every time.

    Peterson Irish Flake

This is good news! I'm surprised to see 3P's after all the conjecture that it was gone.

    $10k Castello Ten Year Collection

That's a beautiful set! I love the silver work on these. I have 1997 and 1998. Wish I could grab the full set but too rich for my blood.

    Dunhill - London Mixture

I always found London Mixture to be my favorite of the Dunhill blends containing Latakia. I still have a few of the painted label tins produced by Murray's that I'm slowly working my way through.

Love/Hate Blends That You Love or Hate, and Why?

One blend that I love is Gawith Hoggarth & Co. Brown Flake Liquorice. I know for many just the name is a turn off but this is really good stuff. The liquorice is subtle and just lightly accentuates the brown flake taste. I don't get a lakeland taste from this one and it has really become a...

Peterson Irish Flake: how strong is it? (first non-aromatic tobacco)

It is one of my favorites and is somewhat strong. Strength likely depends on your tolerance for nicotine. Maybe eat a meal before your first bowl and see how it goes.

More $ on Tobacco, or Pipes & Accessories This Year?

More pipes than tobacco for me this year.

    Love at First Sight Blends

I'll add the following blends to this thread. HH ODF, GH&Co. Dark Birdseye, and Rattray's Stirling Flake all did it for me from the very first light.

    1933 Dunhill CK on SmokingPipes.com

I saw the pipe when it was still available on SP but it sold quickly. My recollection is it was around $600 give or take a few dollars. I wasn't interested due to the Vernon tenon. They also had another CK with the deepest bend I've ever seen that was listed for $295. It looked more like a...

Fold And Stuff / A True Test

I smoke a lot of flakes. One of the things I like about them is all the different ways you can prepare the tobacco for the bowl with each way providing a different experience. I'm glad you are enjoying it too!

    Humidity Control

Me too. Jars are very effective storage vessels for tobacco.
